“Great for Ironman Arizona!”

We stayed here for Ironman Arizona in 2007. The hotel itself is not the nicest place I've ever stayed at. But the staff and the service make up for all of that. The hotel took care of all the athletes by providing "to-go" bags of breakfast early the morning of the race (water and fruit.) They shuttled us to and from the race site all weekend, and they shuttled my family to and from the race all day Sunday. They are about a mile from the race site and are almost on the run course. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone competing in IM-Arizona, especially for the price, and I would also recommend the hotel for anyone staying in this area of town.

After an extensive search and reading dozens of reviews for lodging on our recent trip to the southwest, we decided to stay at Springhill Suites for our first night on the road. Surprised by its close proximity to the airport, we were a little concerned when we first arrived. Turned out to be unfounded!
The rooms are wonderful, large and well laid out. We had a double queen room and the beds were actually queen size, compared to others we've booked in the past. The bathroom was very roomy with a well-lit tub/shower with curved shower bar. Nice amenities to boot! Counter was spacious as well.

Everything was extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable; cushy with extra pillows...didn't want to get out in the morning. Unlike most hotel beds, it didn't feel like hundreds of guests had stayed in them, very plush, fresh and crisp! The complimentary breakfast left nothing to be desired with a multitude of hot and cold choices! Juice wasn't watered down as in most chains. Chek-in and out was easy and without a hitch.

We are very choicy when it comes to accomodations. We don't like to pay a lot, especially for a one night stay, but always look for something that will live up to our expectations. This hotel did in a big way! We even tried to get a reservation here our last night before flying out but couldn't get a room because of the Ironman competition. Would rate this one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the last several years and recommend it highly to any traveller.
We also strongly believe in this site for good information regarding lodging and attractions. Take the time and read several reviews and balance the good and the bad. It is a great place to use for comparisons. Thanks to all who chose to share their personal experiences...it was valuable to us!

“Loved It!!”

I've stayed in a lot of SpringHill Suites and they are usually great staff, great value and great breakfast. The SpringHill in Phoenix is now one of my favorites. They always had fresh fruits available to all their guests. I lost an item during my stay and the staff's customer service was exemplary. They found my item within 5 minutes for me. Next time in Phoenix I'll definitely be staying in the same hotel.

“Friendly Service, Close Proximity to Everything”

The hotel itself is alot like other Springhill Suites. They had fresh pears or apples sitting in the lobby all day which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful in finding things close to the hotel. They have a good amount of literature on the Tempe area. The nicest thing about the hotel was how close it was to everything that we vistited. I came with my wife for a weekend trip and the hotel was about 10 minutes from everything. The farthest drive took about 20 minutes to Frank Loyd Wright's house. 15 min to Scottsdale, 5 min to Botanical Garden and Zoo, 5 min from Downtown Tempe (which is a nice place to grab dinner with a bit of a night life), 10 minutes from Raw Hide and Arizona Mills, and about 15 minutes from Camelback Mountain. Perfect location for the on the go traveler. We left our camera in the room after checking out. After realizing our mistake, we called the hotel, and the staff had the camera at the front desk. A huge relief.

“Great for Rock'N"Roll marathon”

We stayed at the SpringHill Suites for four nights in January because we were running in the P.F. Chang Rock'N'Roll 1/2 marathon. We chose the hotel because it looked to be in walking distance of the finish line of the race and Tempe Beach Park where the post-race concert was held. We were able to walk to and from the race although it was a little more distance than we anticipated (more like 2 miles than the 1.3 we expected). The walking was fine for us but might have been tough for those running the full marathon. Driving from the hotel to the shuttle pick up spots appeared to be easy on race morning though.

The staff was super nice and very helpful and tuned into the fact that it was race weekend. The front desk staff were wearing Rock'N'Roll Marathon shirts throughout the weekend, there were signs and race materials/maps on display in the lobby and they even ran a shuttle to the start. We chose not to take the hotel shuttle to the start of the 1/2 marathon but after reading about some folks horror stories about getting to the race using "official" transportation, I think I'd try the hotel shuttle next time. (Small tip: if taking a shuttle from Tempe to the start try to take the shuttle from the orange lot. We had no trouble doing that but others from red/yellow and blue had lots of trouble!)

The hotel started the continental breakfast early on race morning at 5AM and had everything available that they had for normal breakfast, including a big pot of fresh oatmeal with toppings, eggs, and belgian waffles that you cooked to order. They also had fruit, yogurt, and typical pastries. They even provided small bags to carry stuff in if you wanted to take your breakfast with you to the race.

Despite being in the flight path of the airport, the hotel was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We also had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker and 2 big TV sets. This was great since we wanted to watch the NFL playoffs and could do so without having to lay in bed.
