We needed a hotel for an overnight after flying in to Phoenix and then flying out the next morning. This hotel had a free shuttle and was under $80 so we thought, how bad could it be?

We thought it was priced so low because it was off season and it was summer break. It was definitely not even worth the $50 we paid. There are permanent residents living there and we didn't want to leave our room after dark. The bed was uncomfortable and everything just looked old.

We should have spent the extra even if it was only a 12 hour stay.

If you are a road-tripper on a budget who wants to attend a sporting event in Phoenix, this place is OK. I stayed with a girlfriend for a Seahawks at Cards game in October of 2004. The stadium is nearby and they even provided a shuttle to Sun Devil Stadium. The Giants and Angels Spring Training Parks are nearby, as well.
The pool provide a nice place to relax.

“way over priced mediocre motel”

The Day's Inn in Tempe is a very mediocre motel at a very high price. The motel has seen better days and is worn around the edges. The porcelain in the bathroom is chipped and there was mildew around the rim of the tub. The wireless internet did not work in our first room and in a second room we were given it was very weak. We found the front desk clerk surly and very unhelpful. If this was a $50.00 a night hotel it might be ok but at over $100.00 a night we expect friendly staff, clean well maintained rooms and working internet. I have always found Day's Inns to be iffy and the Tempe Day's Inn only reinforces that feeling.

“Good location”

Days Inn Tempe

I've stayed at this hotel a few times for convenient location and wireless internet connection. The rooms have a mini-fridge and are comfortable although they can be noisy. Bathrooms are tiny. Some of the rooms have been neglected for lack of repairs, such as loose toilet seats, sticky doors, and broken towel racks/fixtures.
Washer and dryer are outside next to the pool and parking lot.
No resturant on premises. Continental breakfast in lobby.

Recently, on January 1 2008, they raised their rates about 60% (temporary)which really annoyed me, so I won't be staying here anymore.
I tried to book a room for the 6th of January and my normal rate of $60 was jacked up to almost $100 - Not a considerate action to regular clients.
Currently, you're going to pay $85 with tax, not a good value, imo.
