I stayed here 2 nights on business. This hotel seems very new. My room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff at the front desk seemed friendly. In the evenings during the week they have a reception where you can have complementary beer or wine.

The hotel is near plenty of shops and restaurants and it seemed like a nice location. If I was there on vacation, I would not stay at this hotel since it was a little bit of a distance from the airport. However, if your travels take you to this area of Phoenix, then I would recommend staying here.

Stayed here two times since Memorial Day for a total of six nights. Place is almost new and clean and orderly. Rooms were perfect and A/C worked great. It was hot, too (114 degrees).
Computer room for guests needs someone who knows something about computers!!! The staff was clueless, and people were trying to print their boarding passes but the computer was locked up. Not good.
Breakfast staff is on the ball and trying to please everyone. They do try to engage you in a most friendly way.
Front desk staff--------some are on the ball, and some are just not that good.

Overall, this place is nice and a good choice for just about anybody.

it seemed things were going to start bad ... we checked in and went to our room only to be overcome by the strong odor of cigarettes. A quick look around our room and we also found bags of chex party mix in a drawer and a soggy TV dinner in the fridge. In addition it appeared the rug had not been vacumned.
But The Hampton redeemed themselves by apologizing and immediately giving us another room next door that was fresh smelling and very clean. The front desk staff seemd extremely concerned that the previous guests had smoked in that room and we noticed that they did not rent it out for the next two days while they worked on cleaning & airing it out properly.
The rest of our 3 night stay was wonderful. The pool was small but clean and refreshing, never too crowded, the outdoor spa was in great shape and popular with us in the late evening. Pool towels from the front desk were big and soft.
We booked the over sized room with king bed, a sofa, chair, wet bar, micro, & fridge. It was large, roomy, pleasing upper scale decor, with a very upscale roomy bath. The bed was one of the better ones you'll ever find in a hotel at this price, and we slept good here. I especially liked the wall mounted digital thermostat for the AC system. It worked perfectly.
And the breakfast was much better than most. Hot eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits & gravy and all the other usuals, with quality coffee (I'm from Seattle ya know), and two very personable attendants that were bustling the whole time to keep everyone happy. Check in & check out were speedy and accurate. This is where I will stay next time. We booked thru the Hampton site & got the room for about $81 a night.. well worth it.

“Good Location and Price”

Hampton Inn Suites Phoenix Surprise

Stayed here over Spring Break while we were in the Phoenix area to see some Spring Training baseball. The location was great - only a couple of miles from where the Rangers/Royals play, and then about 10 miles from where the Padres play. The area is newly developed, so there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. But - there is only one main road through town, highway 60, and it is very heavily traveled - lots of traffic and stop lights, so going short distances still took a while.

The hotel itself was pretty nice - relatively new (maybe 1 or 2 years old) so it had the newer Hampton look inside and out. The breakfast area was nice, and very well kept - the breakfast staff were great - very friendly and hard working. The food area was always clean or being cleaned, and very well and frequently stocked. They did a good job of mixing up the breakfast options as well, so you didn't always get the same egg disks and flat sausage patties.

The other common areas of the hotel weren't monitored quite as well - that was kind of disappointing. They had a "business center" - a small room right off the lobby that had a PC and a printer, but it didn't look like they ever went in there and cleaned it the three days we were there, and there was no ventilation, so you had to have the door propped open when you were using it. But - not to complain too much - the PC and printer were a huge help for getting our boarding passes printed early, and for getting and printing directions to the nearby attractions (baseball and golf mostly).

The pool area was nicely set, outside just off the lobby as well, but it looked like they never cleaned or picked up the entire time we were there. The first time I went to use it, there were no towels, all the used ones were just tossed or spread out everywhere, and looked as if they had been there for a while. That was diasppointing.

The front desk staff seemed to be very indifferent. Not really rude, but not too helpful or real friendly. Basically - what's your name, and here's your room key. I asked a couple of different front desk staff what there was to do in the area (besides the baseball and golf), and they both said, "I don't really know...there are some brochures in the business center". I was just a little surprised (no pun intended) that in a completely tourist area that the staff wasn't at all versed on what to do in or around the local area.

But, the price was right, the hotel was in overall pretty decent shape. The room was nice and decent size, seemed to be very clean, and quiet. So - would definitely stay here again if in the area, but hope they make some improvements on common area upkeep/cleanliness and staff education/courtesy.

It took about 45 minutes to get here from the Phoenix airport - mostly freeway, and then the last 10 miles or so on 60 were the slowest part. See if you can find alternate routes or maybe non-peak times to use that road...I was amazed at the traffic loads in the early morning and early afternoon.

We stayed one night in May (still a high season rate). We live in Surprise and needed a place to stay while our new house was getting the electric power worked out. The rooms are new so everything is clean and up to date. The hotel was busy with a wedding party but the staff was still helpful and on top of things. If I needed to stay in town again this would be our pick.
