This is one of two sushi restaurants in Sierra Vista. I ate here 3 times before giving up on them. The first two times, the food was acceptable and service was mediocre but I thought it would improve.
The third time my husband, daughter and I ate here in fall 2005, they completely forgot to bring my order. My husband and daughter were served while I sat and waited 5-10 minutes for my order to appear. Finally, I flagged down another waitress to ask where my order was (because our waitress had disappeared). It took another 10 minutes for them to determine that my order was never given to the chef and it would take "a few minutes" for it to be prepared.
My husband and daughter had already finished their meal by the time my order arrived. By then I had lost my appetite, I was irritated and didn't want to eat there anymore. So we decided to leave and they actually charged us for my uneaten meal!
I had to request that the meal be removed from the bill. The waitress wanted to package up my meal so I could eat it at home. I refused and the cashier became annoyed that she had to deduct the meal from the bill. If I had wanted to eat my meal at home, I would have ordered take-out instead of subjecting myself to their poor service.
They did not receive a tip. I never received an apology or an acknowledgement from the management that they did anything wrong. I'm never eating there again.
This restaurant was always crowded and they try to accommodate all their customers by placing tables very close together in the very limited space they have. Depending on your personality, it can either be very cozy or a little irritating to be rubbing elbows with the next diner.
Go here only if you have plenty of patience, are understanding if your order is wrong or never arrives, and don't mind the hectic, bustling, noisy, crowded atmosphere of this restaurant.
If you want the ambience of a quiet Japanese meal, you won't find it here.
