This hotel is by far the best one in Sierra Vista. I initially got suckered into staying at the Windemere Hotel (for 2 nights) because they offered 2 free drinks/day. But the Windemere had small dingy rooms and no internet access. Consequently, I checked into the Gateway Studio Suites and what a difference!
The Gateway Studio Suites has big spacious rooms (all renovated) with high speed internet access, a separate sitting area (with small sleeper sofa and coffee table), and even a kitchenette (with sink, stove, fridge, and microwave-- and equipped with pots/pans/cooking utensils/plates/etc). The TVs in the rooms have A/V jacks so you can hookup your Playstation or video camera if you needed to. Water pressure was excellent (faucets/shower head).
Gov't/military rates accepted....make sure you call ahead for reservations. Hope this helps.

The rooms, while basically clean have no character and are very dreary. The beds were awful and the pillows, worse. The saving grace was an adequate breakfast in the sunny lobby in the morning.

If you are looking for fancy/romantic, you are not going to find it anywhere in Sierra Vista. The Gateway is a clean and safe hotel with a very friendly staff. Rooms are fairly big and the built in kitchen is great if you have a long stay and get tired of eating out. The pool is small but nice. I didn't get a chance to try to the breakfast but heard good things from other guests. I would return to this hotel.

This is probably the best hotel available in Sierra Vista. The rooms are big and clean, plus you get friendly staff. I was so impressed, I even wrote a letter to the manager to commend the help I received from a front desk agent. The breakfast is great as well. Overall, this is far more than I would expect in such a run down dump of a city.
