After staying in about seven different hotels in Sierra Vista, this is the one I would prefer to stay in (haven't tried sierra suites). The hotel is not fancy, but the value for the price is essentially unbeatable. The staff members were friendly. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The efficiency included a fully functional range, sink , dish-set and microwave. A free drink was included, and they actually had a nice assortment of beers and wines to choose from. Most importantly, the stay was very quiet. It is important to make reservations well in advance because good hotels in Sierra Vista are always booked and this place is no exception.

Perfect location. Excellent staff ( very friendly and helpful , go out of their way to make you feel welcome ). Warm atmosphere.
Rooms are super clean, including the kitchen ( which they have in every room) Internet works extremely well. Secure and FAST.

I stayed at Gateway Studio Suites recently while traveling to Ft. Huachuca on business. The rooms are rather sizable, and there's plenty of space to work in the room without infringing on your sleep space. The rooms are not at all luxurious, but everything was clean and comfortable nonetheless, and the kitchenette was a real bonus. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and the wireless internet was solid. The staff really stood out - they were extremely helpful with a variety of requests. There's also a computer with printer available for guest use (for free) by the front desk, and that also came in handy. Add in the extremely convenient location (it's within walking distance to the entrance gate of the base), and it's hard to imagine finding better accommodations in the Sierra Vista area.

This hotel is by far the best one in Sierra Vista. I initially got suckered into staying at the Windemere Hotel (for 2 nights) because they offered 2 free drinks/day. But the Windemere had small dingy rooms and no internet access. Consequently, I checked into the Gateway Studio Suites and what a difference!
The Gateway Studio Suites has big spacious rooms (all renovated) with high speed internet access, a separate sitting area (with small sleeper sofa and coffee table), and even a kitchenette (with sink, stove, fridge, and microwave-- and equipped with pots/pans/cooking utensils/plates/etc). The TVs in the rooms have A/V jacks so you can hookup your Playstation or video camera if you needed to. Water pressure was excellent (faucets/shower head).
Gov't/military rates accepted....make sure you call ahead for reservations. Hope this helps.
