“Nice Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We needed to get out of the seaweed in Fort Walton and see something different. The beach was very nice. It still had seaweed but not as much. It was not very crowed. They had plenty of picnic area's, showers, and clean restrooms. We would like to go back someday. It is a state park so it was $5 for each vehicle to get it.

“peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We stayed in a cabin for a week, in the woods. It was far enough from the beach that we couldn't hear the ocean very strongly, which actually was nice. It was a great place to stay, as a hub for doing all kinds of outdoors things in the area. The cabin was clean, with all the essentials: Sheets, blankets, towels, dishes, cook-ware, etc. It was a relief to not have internet access :) The rangers were helpful when we needed anything. There is no separate place for recyclables. We learned that in Walton County, inmates separate garbage from recyclables!

“Two weeks camping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

My 10 year old and I spent two weeks in our pop up at the park. Loved the ease of getting in and out of the park. The bike trail out front was a bonus getting in and out of Seaside, which can be a traffic nightmare. The new bath house is not air conditioned, and only has two shower stalls causing lines to form ( like all other ladies rooms.). New loop is paved but lacks shade and privacy between sites. Old loop floods and is marked with very large pot holes on the gravel drive. The pot holes turned into lakes spanning the entire road. Our neighbors across and next to us had to use the dryers every night for three consecutive nights because their tents and belongings were floating. Be sure to call and ask the rangers before booking your site to avoid that problem. They are very courteous and will help you. Publix and Walmart are about ten miles west on 98.

“A very serene place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We didn't stay there but drove through and it is a beautiful park on the beach and looks like a great place to camp and enjoy nature. It is very quiet and serene if you are looking to get away from it all!

“Wonderful stay at the campground.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed our time at the campground. Helpful staff, updated bathrooms, and quiet surroundings. The beach was great, but the water had a lot of seaweed compared to other beaches we visited. Overall great value and worth a stop!
