The thing that makes the Grayton beach different from the other beaches in fort walton is the added biodiversity in terms of ponds, dunes etc, in addition to the beautiful white sands. Some of the ponds had a pretty oily look to it...which was a little bit of a disappointment. There is a secret here...Right across the Grayton Beach, there is a pretty lovely walking/hiking trail. Though I only walked a little bit, a couple of charming ladies from Wisconsin told me while I was entering the trail that it want upto seven miles. They do have a warning for snakes, so make sure you are alert, have the right hiking boots etc.
