I'm a long time fan of the Emporium. The chef offers an excellent array of luncheon and dinner options from unique soups (pear and parsnip for example), meatloaf, chicken pot pie, vegetable wrap, wonderful salads, onion and chedder tart with apple side salad and the deserts are always out of this world: shortbread, tarts, pies, cakes, frozen chai. And then there's afternoon tea (make sure you have a reservation). Before or after the meal, browse the shop for unique jewellery, clothing, accessories, and gourmet jams, jellies, chutneys, coffees and teas ... and maybe take soup or casserole or a salmon pie from the fridge for a treat at home.
