Owner description: Welcome to the Birthplace of HISTORIC Route 66! In 1987, Angel Delgadillo, the kindly crusader, led the charge to save the Main Street of America; Route 66. The Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona was formed to protect, promote, and preserve the Mother Road. The grassroots association and Angel's charisma have captured the world's attention. Today there are Route 66 associations worldwide.Angel and Vilma opened the very first Route 66 gift shop in 1987. The once pool hall and barber shop is now a unique blend of gift shop, barber shop, visitor center, and museum. The museum is dedicated to all the people who have made the pilgrimage to Historic Route 66 from all over the United States and the world. Your road trip is not complete until you experience living history at this Route 66 landmark!

“Angel and Vilma's Barber Shop and Store”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

What a warm welcome from the folks in this store. There is a great sense of history here, lots of memorabilia at great prices and they try very hard to sell products made in the USA.

Loved the barber shop and artefacts scattered around.

Well worth a detour.

“Historic Route 66 Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

If you only stop at one place along Route 66, make sure it's this place in Seligman Arizona. After reading & hearing about Angel & his family single-handedly keeping the magic of Route 66 alive, we felt it was our duty to stop & pay our respects. Make sure you peek into every room & have your picture taken on Angel's famous barber chair. There are lots of great souvenier choices, so make sure you stop, look (don't forget to look up) & take home a little piece of history.

“Came home $200 lighter!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

We were doing the Historic 66 and were losing a bit of time towards the end so chose to do the last bit through AZ on the I-40 (I know, I know!) By the time we reached the Seligman turn off we had caught up with ourselves so thought we'd take the old 66 that went north west and then dropped back down into Kingman. The first small town on this leg is Seligman and as soon as we drove down the main street we knew we had entered a town that more than embraces the whole '66' thing. We stopped at Angel & Vilmas not really realising it's heritage and importance on the Route. Boy, were we in for a shock when we got speaking to inside. We were even offered coffee! Lovely people running a wonderful shop on the heart of 66. What its all about.

“Snow Caps Dine In lots of fun (Delgadillo's)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We enjoyed the nostalgic feel of Seligman, with the many vintage motel signs and shops. We drove much of Arizona Route 66 and this was a fun town. Delgadillo's Snow Caps is especially fun since he has quite the sense of humor. He gives root beer float "samples", has many cute little jokes, and everyone enjoyed this place. Lots of bikers and vintage car buffs drive through here.

“Angel of Seligman”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Angel Delgadillo is the most amazing man ever. He has tirelessly fought to keep Seligman on the map and has succeeded. His barbers shop is a route 66 mecca. Of course there is also a gift shop but the prices are very reasonable. The shop gets very busy but the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I had the honour of meeting Angel while there. He posed for all our photos, had time to chat to us. Considering he is in his eighties now he is a true inspiration.
I urge everyone doing route 66 or in the area to make this a must see visit.
