We recently had a family reunion in Sedona. Several booked at Los Abrigados, some did not want to pay that so they booked in at the Super 8. Me being one of the Super 8's. Wasn't thrilled with the place, room was small, old, worn. Checked in at 5p, then ate, ran around, came back to the room with my 2 kids, 9 & 10. Walked into the room without using the key. Used the bathroom, it plugged up, this is at 9:15p. Went to the front desk, they did say they would fix, but with the kids, we were ready to go to bed, did not want to wait the hour or so, plus was extremely concerned about walking in without a key. Asked for them to refund the price of the room, they would not, then clerk(Bill) got extremely snippy. So we moved, they will not refund, and will have to dispute with AX.
Don't stay here..... Below standards, especially for a place like Sedona.

The hotel though "tired" and need of updating, was clean and the personnel was helpful. I would stay here again. I was surprised that my room did not have a refrigerator in it, but managed to work around it. The pool was being refurbished when I visited in March 2006.

The restuarant "SPICES", located next to the motel, is nothing to look at on the outside but is upscale inside. Serves a great steak and has a friendly staff. Be prepared to spend $30-40.00 a person for dinner without drinks. The meal was so good that I did not mind the price.

Non-Smoking room smells like cigarettes in bathroom when running fan. Overpriced. They say they have wireless internet access, but it only works in lobby. Nice staff though. Don't count on a "non-smoking" room.

The room was fine-a view room with 1 bed non smoking,the motel was fine,people/staff pleasant-room pretty clean lots of towels tho I did find a candy bar wrapper from some previous occupant in a drawer. The TV had only a few channels 1 was a tourist tape only and that was annoying. The location is good-west sedona there are places to eat, supermarket, etc within walking distance. I did not use the on site restaurant-it was not open as promised at 7am the 1 day and when I tried to go there for Sat pm dinner there was a crowd waiting. My main issue was that I had called a couple days earlier to get the reservation and it was clear that I was checking in on a Fri pm and leaving on Sunday. I was given a rate of $95-I went over it all with the clerk yes it was Fri-Sun etc. When I arrived the rate was $107 plus tax. The owner said well that's because it is a weekend-what about my confirmation? Well it's the weekend so it's more. It appeared to be a family operation so I am sure the person who took the reservation knew there was a different price. It isn't that I would not have paid it-of course I did. Or even that it was unreasonable-it wasn't. I feel it was a deceptive practice. At that point after being on the road for awhile I was not about to run off in a huff and spend my time going from place to place to find another room.
