“A little piece of magic”

PROS: We travel quite often and stay at 4 or 5 star resorts, but this heavenly piece of property has grabbed my heart and soul. Aerobics at the pool in the morning after tennis - Breakfast with the freshest giant heap of fresh berries - Accupuncture at the spa for any aches and pains - read a while down by Oak Creek - Great programs such as Native American stories from a Native American or star gazing thru a telescope - Catch red rock fever from the views - I'm hooked!!! Plus with Tlaquepaque some 50 feet away and the Institute of EcoTourism connected with the resort adds the "Green aspect" and romance aspects to this already magnificant grounds!
CONS: Wish they had a large firepit to mellow around in the evening. Parking at times can be testy. The rooms are not really attractive, but they are clean. I don't spend much time inside as it's the magic that awaits me on the other side of the door that keeps drawing me back. The only other spot in Sedona I really like after 6 or 7 trips out there is Enchantment Resort and it's further from town, twice the price and it's not quite as magical to me....

“Beautiful Grounds, Great Staff But Pool/Spa is overwhelmed with Children”

2nd time at the resort. As always beautiful grounds and excellent staff. Do not stay on ground level if possible due to noise from upstairs. Adult pool and hottub has been taken over by children. Apparently to increase income day/season passes are now being sold. This makes the already tight parking even worse.

“Wonderful Vacation”

My husband and I just returned from a week at Los Abrigados in Sedona. Just before we went I read several of the reviews on this website and was concerned about the choice I had made to spend a week there. We were pleasantly surprised! Check in went very smooth and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Jackie, the concierge, was very pleasant and always ready to help us out with hiking and restaurant suggestions. With a little pull she even got us the Grand Canyon trip we wanted as well. Our unit was clean and the kitchen area had a two burner cooktop, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher and full size fridge. We even had a fireplace in the living area and a jacuzzi on the balcony. The maid was there every day to change towels and give us more supplies if we needed them. The grounds are well manicured and the pool area was nice. They have an excellent spa and health club with many classes to choose from every day. There are two restaurants onsite as well as several within walking distance of the resort. We will definitely return.

“Would stay again”

Los Abrigados Resort and Spa

May 28, 2008

We stayed here on an exchange through RCI for 10 days before going on to the Grand Canyon.
Although check in was a bit rushed and unusually uninformative we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We didn't take the presentation as we have done them before and just couldn't be bothered to be honest. Have to say the guest services person was a bit pushy and seemed very put out by this. Also have to say that at every non official info centre in Sedona they try to get you to take a presentation somewhere as they are all on commission. Go to the official Chamber of Commerce places they are more informative any way.
The room was a 2 bed Jerome and we would have preferred the one queen but we managed.
The grounds are excellently maintained, pools clean. Most days we breakfasted on the balcony and watched the humming birds.
Parking is a bit tricky but not impossible. Restaurants are excellent and the shopping centre has 3 others which are also excellent. Sedona also has plenty of choices.
Unfortunately we were not informed about the extensive roadworks currently going on in Sedona whic h were right outside the entrance.
However all in all we had an enjoyable experience and would go there again.

“Restaurants are great, accommodations very disappointing”

We did this on a timeshare swap during the Christmas season where it was crowded because of the Christmas exhibits. I felt like we were sharing the resort with the world. On the good side, the restaurants on the property are fabulous. The spa was nice, too.
On the not so great side, the rooms were a great disappointment. Even though it was said to be remodeled, I think they need to go back to the drawing board. The bathroom was atrocious, and the shower faucets and plumbing need some improvement. Although the unit was clean, the one bedroom suite was small for what I expected. My daughter slept on the sofa in the living room, and it wasn't all that comfortable for her, and she weighed about 100 lbs. There was no oven, and when we arrived, our toaster oven was broken. The staff replaced it immediately, but it doesn't seem like these people really care what you think of their property. They all seem to act as if these are luxury condos, and they are not. I think they are living on an old reputation for being a 5 star, and I really don't consider this a 5 star hotel. We would never stay here again because as a Marriott timeshare holder, I am used to better quality in the rooms, but we would go back to the restaurants.
