“Enchantment, but a little over-kill...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

I worked in the hotel industry for many of years and I know what customer service is about. Their well trained staff were so polite... It was such a pleasure to not hear the slang, like "Have a good one" or, "Hows it going".... Always thank you and so professional...

I felt like it was a little, Stepford Wives also like the previous comments. They have "Golf Carts"
that run continually around the clock... and if you even sneeze they are right there.... I felt somewhat claustrophobic... The $500 per night charge for the Jr. Suite was a bit much... The
room was small and so was the balcany. The beds were too hard and I woke up with a backache almost every morning.

Room Tip: When you travel make sure that you pull the sheets off the beds and look in the folds of the mattres...

Dear Doloresbell,

We are pleased you found our staff to be polite and professional, but sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your room. The Junior Suites are 620 square feet, but we do have larger accommodations that we hope you’ll consider on a future stay. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

We stayed at Enchantment this past weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Everyone on staff that we encountered was extremely friendly. Some of them to the point of overly friendly (kind of like a Stepford Wives sort of friendly), but I'd rather have that than someone who is in a bad mood! The location of the resort is simply stunning. We stayed in a Jr. Suite and had no problems with noise as some of the other reviewers have stated. No cell phone service from our room though, but that makes sense given the location and the gorgeous rock formations surrounding the resort. You can't have both the beautiful red rocks and cell phone service people! My husband had two massages at the spa and enjoyed them. I walked through the spa and thought it was one of the most lovely spas I'd ever seen. We had a phenomenal dinner at Chi-Ah-Che on Friday night. We plan on returning to Enchantment next year and we will stay for 3 nights instead of 2. There were a couple of minor problems, not really worth mentioning here, but overall we were very impressed and very relaxed when we left.

Room Tip: Sounds like the Jr. Suites are much quieter than some of the other rooms, but don't expect cell...

I visited Enchantment in early March with my wife and six year old for six nights. The canyon where the resort is built is amazing and you could spend hours each day admiring it, especially from the pool. Che Ah Chi is a great restaurant with awesome food and the service is superb. The food at the Mi Amo spa cafe and Tii Gavo is good as well, but the service is nowhere near as good. The Coyote Club is great, with excellent counselors and activities, my daughter went every day. I highly recommend the 5 mile round trip Boynton Canyon hike, very cool. Only drawback of the resort is the lack of cell and WiFi service - if you have to work, make calls, or just can't live without being connected you will be challenged.

An incredible location with a courteous staff and superb restaurants. It is expensive, and exclusive. The cost of meals and services are posted online so you know what you are getting in advance and for how much. They are careful to keep a throng of on-the-cheap tourist incursions to a minimum, helping preserve the exclusivity and tranquility for those that are paying first class.
Most of the negative comments appear to be sour grapes on the cost… if you can afford to go there without feeling bad… don’t go?!
We loved it!! The spa is second to none!

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom casita 52 which was a bit lower... I would think 55 would have a better view?

Boynton Canyon is truly beautiful and Enchantment looks lovely, but they do not have their priorities in order, especially for the cost to stay here. Housekeeping was not on any kind of schedule. They showed up at 3:45 to clean our room (just as we were returning from a long hike and wanted to relax) and then the "turn down" service showed up two and a half hours later, at 6:15, as we were getting dressed for dinner. I had to ask them to have our room cleaned before 3 pm on another day, because no one had arrived by 2 pm. If you rent a room in a casita, be prepared to hear all conversations, running water and, in our case, a crying baby from the room next door. We were in a unit with a small kitchen and had rooms on either side of us. The only thing separating the rooms is a lightweight wooden door. Not good. Further, if you rent the deluxe center room - it has a murphy bed, which is uneven and lumpy. If you need your phone to work, be sure to ask for a room with a signal - there are many areas in the resort where you cannot get cell service. We had to walk to the pool to get our messages or make calls. It is about a 25 minute drive to town if you want to go out to dinner. (ELOTE CAFE is great!) Do not assume you will get reservations at the restaurants at the resort. We couldn't get a time before 8:30pm to eat in either of their signature restaurants. We ended up eating at the Mi Amo Spa Cafe, which was so wonderful we didn't try anywhere else after our first meal. If you are without kids and want a quiet place to relax, the pool at Mi Amo is perfect. Enchantment is a family resort, so the main pool can be crowded and noisy. All of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful (except for one woman at the concierge desk who was rude) and the overall vibe is a good one. The spa is top notch and the treatments are worth every penny. We would go back to Enchantment again, but would be very specific about which room we book and what our housekeeping requirements are.

Room Tip: The nicest rooms are in the back, next to the canyon walls. But, they have the worst cell service...

We had a very enjoyable stay at Enchantment. The hotel is nestled in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The buildings look like they rose up from the rocks themselves and blend in perfectly with the surroundings. The rooms were impeccably clean and decorated. All of the staff was very pleasant and the food was very good. The mountain bikes are included with your stay and a lot of fun to use. At night, you could see so many stars that you won't believe it (I didn't). We were thrilled with are stay. The hotel is just outside of town and takes about 15 minutes to drive into town, so you have to plan your day accordingly. We would definitely stay there again during our next trip to Sedona.

We stayed at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona, AZ. Upon arrival we found the curb-side staff at the lobby location to be non-attentive as he saw up pull up and turned around and went back into the building. He came out after about five minutes and just looked at us but offered no assistance. WE finally asked him for assistance and he said, "oh, are you checking in?" We found this a bit odd.
The resort itself is a lovely place, surrounded by beautiful Boynton Canyon with red cliffs surrounding us. Great hiking trails for even inexperienced hikers. We found the most helpful and friendly staff to be the young men who drive the golf cart "taxis"...always courteous and willing to help. My biggest complaint was the noise level that could be heard through the walls from the adjoining room. Regular conversations could be heard. Also, the bath tubs/showers have very high sides with nothing to hold on to getting in and out. And there is only one shower door so the floor got wet with each shower. We found that strange. But it could be very dangerous...tricky at best. The spa has a great little cafe with delicious organic food. The surroundings are beautiful. I would go here again....just with lower expectations than I had this time. I was expecting more but wasn't totally disappointed either.

Room Tip: If you can get a room that does not have an adjoining room (door in between rooms) it would be bette...

Dear Jo F,

We’re glad you found many of the staff helpful, but we do apologize for the non-attentive check-in as there should have been someone curbside to greet you. Your comments on the noise and showers have been forwarded to management. We appreciate your feedback.
