We stayed here in mid-October, based on trip advisor reports - although on recent reports (which I don't necessarily disagree with) I don't know if I would make the same choice again.

Positives - great location, easy access to uptown Sedona & Oak Creek Canyon, amazing views of the red rocks from our huge private deck. This is really why you'd want to stay here to be honest. Our room was beautiful, the bed was incredibly comfortable and it was very quiet and peaceful. The outdoor hot tub was fantastic, and lying there drinking champagne and watching the stars was very romantic. However ...

Negatives - hot tub wasn't working on morning 2, and given that this was one of the major distinguishing factors of booking this place, we weren't pleased. The owner came and tinkered around with it for a bit and said it sometimes took a while to come on ?!? No apology - actually I got the impression (now borne out by recent reviews) that the hot tubs quite regularly don't work properly ... I did try again later, and somehow managed to get it to work eventually by pressing every combination of button, but it did leave a bad impression. Also, the owner doesn't stay at the B&B at night - which generally is fine by me, however on our first night I don't think there were any other guests there and if I'm honest I didn't feel particularly safe. All rooms are accessible externally, there are big plate glass windows and not particularly strong locks. It's very dark outside and you're not really near any other properties. Maybe it's just me being a scaredy-cat but I wasn't especially happy that night!

Overall we had a good stay in Sedona, and a romantic time at the wishing well - but this was in spite of various shortcomings and overall I think this place is seriously overpriced. I'd try somewhere else next time.

We booked the Wishing Well for our anniversary trip in October 2007. One of the things we definitely wanted was an outdoor jacuzzi with a view, because we heard that stargazing in Sedona is a must. We selected this property specifically for that reason.

When we drove up, we thought the property was lovely. We were so excited to check in and relax after 15 hours traveling. Imagine our disappointment upon checking in when the desk clerk told us that "oh, by the way, your hot tub isn't working". She was so indifferent about it and seemed more concerned with her kids, who were running all over the property (one of them ran in front of our car as we were driving up). She gave us some long story about how they had taken a part from it to fix another hot tub a few days earlier and she just hadn't been able to get a handyman to come repair it. Then she says she will try to call them right now...AT 4:15 ON A FRIDAY. It was obvious that she had not been trying to get it fixed. When (surprise!) she couldn't reach anyone, we asked her if she would give us a credit, and she said she would give us a $30 credit...ON A $300 ROOM! We asked to see the room to decide if it was worth $270 with no hot tub and it was not. We asked for our money back and found another place where we were very well taken care of.

I know this review is very delayed, but I have been wanted to say my peace on this place for awhile and I am finally sitting down to do it!

First let me say that my husband and I have stayed at this B&B twice in the past and loved it! The previous owners were amazing hosts that prepared spectacular breakfast. However, the new ownership leaves much to be desired.

During our trip we were the ONLY guests in the B&B. The first morning our breakfast was an hour and a half late. Our second morning we waited for an hour after our requested breakfast time and then left to go eat elsewhere. When we saw the inn keeper later, she did not apologize but acted upset that we had left! With only two guests, there is no reason for food to be that late. And the one breakfast we did eat was average at best.

I won't speak for the rooms as I understand they have been redone since our visit, however the hot tubs did need replacing as they were old and kind of dirty.

I am so sad that this B&B turned out this way as it is a beautiful building with a fabulous location. Hopefully, the owner gets her act together.

We were here for our one year anniversary. The picture looks so nice and I told my husband I am giving him a surprise for our anniversary. When we arrived, I was a little bit disappointed. The bed is not very comfortable and the lady who substituted the host, who is sick, knows nothing about the good place to go for dinner. She said somebody will call us at 7:00 next day to arrange breakfast time( Who wants to get up so early while on vacation)

So we woke up around 7:00 and nobody called. at 9:00, my husband finally called the host to ask for breakfast. The breakfast is really delicious and it is the best part of the stay.

The water in the jaccusi on the private deck smells weird so my husband only put his feet in.

For the price ths B& B charged, I don't think it is worth the $$.

The view is definitely spectaculous but overall, I don't think we will return to this B&B.

“Won't be back”

Wishing Well Bed and Breakfast

Let me just say that my family has been to this B&B for YEARS and has loved it...the food, gracious hosts, the view, the room, etc. With the new ownership (or at least the new managers), this place is now a B&B I will never return to again.

I started to book on-line, but couldn't find a place to list my gift certificate, so I called to ask how I should handle this with the fact that I had a gift certificate for a one night stay. The woman told me to go ahead and book online and she'd make a note of my gift certificate in her book so I wouldn't be charged for one of the nights. I booked online and was charged half, the cost of one night, so that made sense. A week before my stay, however, I was charged for the 2nd night. I almost knew this was going to happen so I POLITELY called to explain the situation and I was pretty much accused of never calling and totally doing the payment wrong and it was all my fault and such a hassle now, BUT (she went on to say) it's no big deal and I'll just refund your money. Um, don't really know why I had to be accused of lying and told I totally messed everything up if the end result was to refund my money anyway?? So, we were off to a bad start.

When we got to the B&B, we had to relive the refund issue...she had forgotten to do it, so we waited for 10 minutes while she searched her office for a possible invoice, but nothing was there. WHATEVER!!!!, can we just handle it and enjoy our stay already??? I want the money refunded, but I don't need to hang out and watch you search your office for it. I would have been ok if she said she'd look into it as we got settled in the room. I don't need to wait there as she does the job she should have done a week before.

Anyway, there are Positives:
Beautiful view & cute room. Hostess was nice (really helpful in accommodating a couple requests), but not very professional.

Negatives:
Hostess, while nice, was really gossipy. She was telling us how the couple who stayed in our room before us was so disappointed with it (saying it was ugly and the wife actually cried because she was so disappointed). I didn’t know how to respond. The room was cute, so I think the previous guest may have had higher expectations or something, but now I started feeling like “wow, did we get the bad room in the place or something?” Then she proceeded to tell us that she only gives the previous couple’s marriage a couple years unless that wife straightens up. WOW, TOTALLY NOT WHAT I WANT TO THINK ABOUT ON MY ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND!!!!

Hot tub not working - the hostess tried to fix it for the first hour we were there (another thing I don't really need to be involved with as a guest paying a GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY to stay here).

The bed was horrible. Apparently it was a new mattress, but it was way too soft (and I like a soft bed)...so soft that it gave no support whatsoever. I barely slept either night and woke up cranky because of such horrible sleep.

No curtains...apparently there USED TO BE curtains because the rod holders were still there but painted over. With an eastern exposure, that is HORRIBLE!! We were up with the sun...not really the experience you want with a B&B.

The breakfast served on both days was average at best. Most of the time it was cold and/or unflavorful. I barely ate with of our 2 meals and totally felt gipped. Also, my family has been there in the past and raved about fresh croissants and breads in the morning...there was none of that...more like store bought cold cornbread. Plus, the fruit that was served was brown in spots and one bite actually tasted like it had been bad for a week. Pancakes were cold, but the whipped cream was melted and in a pool at the bottom of the plate??? Just not good.

The presentation of the breakfast was nice. There were lace tablecloths, china, etc., but that does not outweigh the quality of the meal.

THIS B&B IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE CHARGED. My husband and I have stayed at B&Bs all over Europe and all throughout the US. I have never been this disappointed. My husband actually has to go to a chiropractor for his back and neck after sleeping in this bed. This was our anniversary weekend and I honestly wish we had just stayed home.
