Based on several previous reviews, we stayed in the "Rooms Up Top" part of the Rose Tree Inn for 2 nights in late April 2006. The Rose Tree Inn is in a quiet residential/motel section of uptown Sedona, within walking distance of Highway 89A - "the main drag" but slightly off the beaten tourist track - which is very nice. The Inn appears to attract a mature crowd that is not interested in glitz and glamour accomodation. In the Inn, rooms face an interior courtyard awash in the most beautiful roses you've ever seen. Gary, the Inn keeper, is very well informed about restaurants in the area and things to do and see and is very helpful. The "Rooms Up Top" portion are located one street over and over the top of a real estate/builders office. One room has a queen bed, the other a King Size - the queen bedded room has a shower only, the King a tub shower combo. The rooms share a quiet upper deck with nice views of the Red rocks. Both rooms have an equipped kitchenette for breakfasts and mini fridges for keeping the cold stuff cold. As I recall, the King bedded room also had two robes for guests.
The Inn does not have a swimming pool, and if you want accomodation that is amenity loaded, then you would be better to stay at one of the resorts. The Rooms Up Top and the Inn were delightful and in an overheated hotel market like Sedona for the price and the location within walking distance of uptown, this is a hidden Gem. We'll try and stay here again.
