I love Mexican food. But until Elote I saw it as somewhat narrow and unvaried. No longer ;-).
The service was friendly, efficient and professional. The wait was less than we'd been led to expect - 45 minutes - and we had a lovely time nursing our prickly pear margaritas on the patio, warmed by woven blankets and heaters (see pic) while we waited. We also got to chat with the chef afterward, and he was warm and welcoming.
The food was just a delight. I wish I could remember the name of the corn hors d'oeuvre we had (Elote Special?) but it was fantastic, maybe the highlight of a great meal. We were a group of eight, and three of us decided to share three entrees, so we got to enjoy (collectively) the goat cheese enchilada, the lamb adobo and the halibut. Each one was excellent. I was particularly impressed by the halibut, as I love and often order fish and would not have expected it to be so good in a restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine - now I know!
