After reading many of the reviews prior to our President's Day weekend visit to Sedona, we decided this was a must visit. We were aware of the warnings regarding the wait time if you arrived too late, but threw caution to the wind and did not heed them due to the activities of the day. We arrived about 7:30 and stood in line just to give our names. We were advised that it would be about 1.5 hours. It was extremely crowded, as it was Saturday night, and we were fully aware that it was going to be a long wait. They have an unusual bar, serving one at a time (no bar area to sit, so you must stand with your drink). We stood in line for about 20 minutes just to get a drink. My wife had the signature pomegranate margarita (2 actually) and loved it. I stuck with beer and tequila. We visited with several other couples while waiting, which was nice. However, unless you wait on the patio (if there's room), you're relegated to waiting by the hostess stand and bar area, unless you want to stand outside (was cold so we did not). Waiting there can be a hassle, as people are constantly coming and going. A lot of "excuse me, pardon me". The atmosphere can be crowded and loud, but on a Saturday night that was just fine. After 2 hours, I went to the hostess and advised her we had surpassed 2 hours. We were seated immediately. On to the food. I order the lamb adobo, which was outstanding! It was a tender shank of lamb and the flavor was incredible (a little pricey at $26, but it is a full shank). My wife had the carnitas which she described as "worth the wait". The tortillas were awesome, as were the chips and salsa. The service was extremely efficient and friendly. Once seated, we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. All in all, I give this a 4 star rating. I can't blame the restaurant for it's popularity and the wait times, and the food was worth the wait in my opinion. Definitely go early or be prepared to ride it out.
