“Closest stay to a vortex”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2011

Thank you Kathy and Larry for a fully packed 3-day stay. Tx too for organising our private guide Mike to drive us around and show us a native's favourite spots in Sedona, massages, and the extra emergency lunch. Hideaway gives the best possible view of the Cathedral Rock as it catches the light at different times of the day, in whatever weather. The owners recommended a walk by the creek which was the perfect introduction red rock walks. Autumn is a beautiful time to visit Sedona, and despite the what the weatherman said, we had 2 very sunny days out of 3!

Room Tip: Only two rooms. We had the upper room, but I think both rooms have a view of the Cathedral rock.

Our experience was simply outstanding. From being guided to the gorgeous site to exiting upon departure, this is a Ritz-quality experience. Although the personal service goes well beyond what any 5-star hotel can deliver. I don't believe any opportunity was missed to demonstrate attention to detail... all delivered in a fun and loving way!!! We can't recommend anybody more than Kathy and Larry. What they deliver is beyond the praises that can be typed.

Every wonderful thing you read about this magical, peaceful, beautiful B&B is true, and then some. From the moment you inquire and reserve, Larry and Kathy get busy making sure your travel, stay and activities are perfect. We are quiet travelers and search far and wide for places where we can unwind in peace; luxury isn't always on our agenda. But at SCH you get both. With only two suites you never are contending with crowds or noise; the building is laid out perfectly so that you feel in your own space and a part of their beautiful home at the same time. We stayed in the Evergreen room and it was amazing. From the views to the hummingbirds to the spa and shower, everything was perfect. I especially loved walking the labryinth in the beautiful morning light, walking up before dawn and watching the sunrise along with the hummingbirds, listening to the coyotes at night, and playing desert bocce. We felt so spoiled with lovely, custom made breakfasts, skin care, endless good chocolate, and great company. Kathy and Larry arranged a perfect backcountry hike for us and got us a good deal on a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon. They are there for whatever you need, and unobtrusive when you want privacy.
It's an understatement to say we didn't want to leave; we are still whining weeks later about having to make our own breakfasts and clean our own room. We would go back in a heartbeat and feel there's no reason to stay anywhere else in Sedona.

Room Tip: There's no wrong choice!

Kathy and Larry have provided the perfect place to unwind and drink in the beauty of Sedona. We stayed for three nights in the Evergreen room, which we preferred because it gave directly onto the deck. We could rise at 5 a.m., head outside and watch the sunrise; at night we could see a myriad of stars and the Milky way. The shower was fantastic, and we appreciated being able to sample Kathy's skin care products. The special little touches are everywhere. The grounds are the perfect place to sit and birdwatch, gaze at the beauty all around, or meditate. An endless supply of chocolate, pumpkin bread right out of the oven, delicious breakfasts made to order, a loveseat recliner in our room....Kathy and Larry are friendly, low-key, unobtrusive hosts, who were available as needed to answer questions or suggest sights to see and restaurants to dine at. We recommend Sedona Cathedral Hideaway wholeheartedly and without reservation.

Room Tip: Evergreen room allowed instant access to the outdoors.

The pictures do not do the place justice. It is as wonderful as everyone claims. Kathy and Larry go out of their way to help you take advantage of Sedona but they never get in your way! The vortex tour with Leon was a great intro to Sedona. Kathy even got me in to see her dentist on an emergent basis (who was terrific). she called a few days later and offered to mail me a scarf I had left. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a gorgeous vacation home with million dollar views, then this is your place! Go and enjoy the great vibes of Sedona with the help of great guides Kathy and Larry!

I cannot recommend the Cathedral Hideaway highly enough! My husband and I stayed here for five wonderful nights and it is by far the best B &B experience that we have had. Kathy and Larry are the perfect hosts, the views are magnificent, the food excellent, the room (Safari) beautiful and very comfortable. A truly wonderful experience. If you are lucky enough to be in Sedona --- this is the place to stay!

Room Tip: The Safari Room is magnificent.

Two more gracious hosts you will not find. Knowledgeable and eager to help with suggestions on site seeing. Fantastic room and even more wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended. Well done Kathy and Larry on making our trip to Sedona even more magical than we expected.
