“A check off the bucket list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

What a great experience! It was everything we had hoped for. Tom and Will did a great job.......fast, efficient, and always felt safe---because you never felt anything. Talk about smooth! Breakfast was great---pop the hood and you have a table top, complete with real dishes and real champaign glasses! And the views......God did a great job!!!

“Very good - but wish we had gone with Red Rocks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

Everything from the pick up at our hotel to the ride to the landing & champagne breakfast were handled professionally, safely, and efficiently. Our pilot, Ron, was informative and skilled. The morning was beautiful and the scenery was beautiful. Got some great photos. However, none of the 4 balloons in our group ever went very high. We spent most of the time barely skimming over the trees and open valley. We never went anywhere Near rock formations. We could see that the Red Rocks balloons got close to red rocks and experienced more different elevations. We had tried to book Red Rocks first (about a month ahead) but the whole week was booked up. Now I know why. We were still glad we went & would recommend Northern Lights but couldn't help but feel like we got the second best option.

“Unbelievable. Wonderful pilot, staff & experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

Loved everything about it. We watched them set up our balloon. Very early in the morning i may add! Gave us all the safety bits of info and then we loaded up, one by one in this vintage basket. And we were off. The ascent was flawless. I am afraid of heights, but Blair, the chief pilot, who by the way knows everything about things we wouldnt even think about knowing, and owns his own restaurant "bodacious burgers in Sedona, was filled with such conversation & wit, that I lost my fear of heights. And enjoyed the ride immensely. Course I was with my husband and 2 close friends- people whom I trust, so the company was definetly a huge part of the journey!! Throughout the ride we learned much about sedona, the wildlife, bugs, meaning of certain words like Ole'--2 meanings by the way and the trees, its residents, culture and surrounding towns. We landed with perfection, the shrubs helped slow us down, then Bob & Gavin were there waiting to stop the basket and ease us to a safe stop and out of the basket. Those boys had the balloon rolled up, basket un-done and loaded back on its trailer in minutes. Blair- the chief pilot had a book so we could write our thoughts & experience--great idea by the way. Then we all went on our way to enjoy our toast and mimosas. And behold Bob & Gavin now are the waiters!! Brought us our morning pastry treat with fresh whipped cream & strawberries. The other crew filled our glasses with mimosas and we drank it all in.. Wonderful day- I am so thankful to my husband and friends for making this happen for me, and the Northern Lights, Blair, Bob & Gavin. I couldnt of asked for more. Thank you so much!!!

“Very pleasant and enjoyable tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The only negative is that ballooning always starts early! But, even for a non-morning person like me, it was definately worth the early wake up. Gathering in the early gray to fill the balloon, climbing into the wicker basket (wicket absorbs shocks without breaking), gently rising. All the sudden you realize that you are high above the ground and have a panaramic view. It is a little "cozy" in the basket - we had 7 people. Saw some jackrabbits and mule deer. Landing came too soon, about an hour tour, but it was a good set-down. Our pilot Danny had an abundant knowledge of geology, local and Arizona history, and ballooning. He kept us totally entertain even as he professionally handled the balloon. We felt like we were in good hands throughout the trip.

“Spectacular and worth the price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

The day started off at 5:30AM; we got a ride to an off-road site just south of Sedona, where the balloons were prepared to take off. (We 'helped' fill the balloons with air! A fun activity, just be sure to wear long sleeves, in case any small rocks get thrown your way by the fans.)
The staff -comprised of grandfathers and 20-something year old males- were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the views were breathtaking, and the celebratory breakfast (mimosas, strawberries with cream cheese dip, fresh apple curlers) was delicious.
The only downside- there was no option for a private balloon ride. However, it seems like the type of people who are willing to get in the car at 5:30AM are nice enough to share a tight space with. We certainly enjoyed our company! And we learned about some great restaurants/sites to visit from both the aeronauts and the fellow riders!
Tips: WEAR A HAT! The burner is hot! Also, wear layers, and solid sneakers. Don't forget- you'll need to tip the staff. But, as you are eating their surprisingly delicious breakfast (served on REAL plates and champagne glasses), you'll realize that they deserve every penny you give.
