Stayed here for two nights with our two children. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with a vaulted ceiling and lovely view of the Red Rocks from the balcony. The furnishings and fixtures were all new and very modern (huge flatscreen TV). The showers are immense. The beds were the most comfortable we encoutered on our recent trip. Having stayed at this hotel before we were greeted with a huge tray of fresh fruit and bottled water that was most welcome after the drive from Phoenix. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is centrally located in Sedona, close to restaurants, shopping and the Safeway (next door). We used the hotel as out base of action for a trip to the Grand Canyon (a 2 hour drive away).

“A delightful hotel”

Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa

Aug 18, 2008

We stayed at the Sedona Rouge for three nights in August. Located slightly out of town in West Sedona it is still ideally situated for shopping, restaurants, hiking etc.
Our room, which was located on the ground floor, was clean and very well appointed. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and a bath. Bath robes were provided and there was a plentiful supply of towels and toiletries. Our only slight complaint was that the air conditioning was a little on the noisy side.
Reds restaurant and bar were a delight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and efficient. Dinner and breakfast menus were reasonably priced and the quality was excellent. The wine list was very reasonable and the classic Margaritas were some of the best sampled on our holiday in Arizona.
Reception sells a very useful guide to local walks that are suitable for all levels of ability. We found it informative and easy to follow. Staff were able to book a Jeep Tour and arrange a hotel pick up and drop off so avoiding having to negotiate the very busy town.

Stayed here for two nights July 30-31, 2008 with a friend and my dog. 100% pleased with room, dining (breakfast, appetizers at pool, and dinner on arrival night), and spa services (had a great 90 minute deep tissue massage). Rooms are different from standard hotel fare and have excellent beds and linens. We had a semi-private courtyard that felt private since we never saw anyone else outside during our stay. Housekeeping was great--no complaints at all. The shower is odd, no question. I'm not sure why the builders wanted to put a tub with a shower NEXT to it, and there really isn't a way to take a shower without getting water on the bathroom floor, but we got a great summer rate, the soap is every bit as good as other reviewers have said, and the hotel was quiet and elegant. The pool is very small, but it was uncrowded during the 105 degree heat, so that wasn't a problem for us. Location is not scenic--on busy highway 89A and as others have said next door to Safeway and strip center, but once you are inside the hotel it really is an oasis. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at Sedona Rouge resort for 4 days while exploring Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. We were very pleased, and some of the notable reasons include its location and the peacefulness of the hotel. It is not in the heart of town but is nonetheless on the main drag, so it is easily accessible to all dining, hiking, sightseeing, etc. We found it quite centrally located without being in the throngs of other hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. It was also quite quiet, which we really appreciate in a hotel. The pool is a quiet space, the fitness room is well-appointed, and the public areas are somewhat hushed by the fountain and the decor. The service was friendly and sufficient, the room was spacious, as was the bathroom. So no complaints here, only high marks for the Sedona Rouge Resort. BTW - their website does not do the place justice -- it is really beautiful and in a lovely setting. They need to update that website!

We liked the hotel, though I thought that for the price it could have been better.

Upon first walking in, we were pleased. Lovely design. I walked onto the balcony to see the view (we stayed in a suite with a "view") and the 1st thing I saw was a dirty glass on the floor w/soggy cigarettes in it. Then I noticed the "view" was lovely...once I looked beyond the long, shabby cement driveway in the foreground. The view of the mountains really was beautiful, though.

The bed was very comfortable.

The shower heads (there are two) were so clogged with "gunk" that the water only flowed through about 50% of the spouts, making the water pressure pretty pathetic. It also looked pretty nasty.

The room service was excellent. The cafe downstairs is wonderful.

We asked for "late" cleaning service, so we could take our time getting ready one morning. When we arrived back, the bed was sloppily made, not like it was the day before. The top blanket was merely thrown onto the bed. The towels were also just "thrown" into the basket in the bathroom. Not folded.

Overall, we enjoyed out stay in Sedona. The weather was beautiful.
