One of the reasons we look forward to traveling to Sedona is because of Javelina Cantina. Their food is always excellent, the view from the restaurant is incredible, and our servers and everybody there are friendly and have been very accommodating (there aren't many places that would be willing to stay open and serve food after somebody was just released from the hospital late at night and was starving to the point where I was wondering if my shoes could be turned into something edible). Their salsa is one of the main reasons that I like to come here, and everything we've had has been very good. I'm sure their desserts are just as excellent as their appetizers and entrees-I wouldn't know because my brother stole the chocolate cake that we had ordered for take-out with the intention of (ahem) "sharing" it among us, and crammed it into his freezer so we couldn't reach it without it being obvious what we were after. It looked delicious (hence part of the reason why we ordered it; well, that, and we were hungry and wanted chocolate), and I'm hoping we get to try some it next time we go to Javelina Cantina (and no, my brother won't get any cake next time-he can just watch us enjoy it and think about how lonely the inside of his squeaky-door freezer looks without stolen cake). Javelina Cantina is definitely one of the best restaurants in Sedona (and Northern Arizona, really-finding someplace that is safe to eat at is good for so many reasons, especially when public restrooms along the highways are somewhat sparse...), and anybody that is looking for excellent food and a great view of Sedona from the Arts and Crafts Village should come here. The only issue we've encountered is that in order to reach the restrooms, trying to navigate through the bar with a cane is a little difficult just because of the arrangement of the tables and chairs next to the bar area (which, compared to other places we've eaten at, isn't that big of a problem; I'd rather have a hard time navigating around furniture than rude restaurant employees and drunk patrons).
