We went to the Cowboy Club knowing little except that the front-desk guy at our motel thought it was great. His recommendation was spot-on!
We had a ten-minute wait even though we were early birds for dinner, so that was a bit surprising. The restaurant itself is dark inside, lots of wood, feels like a saloon, very casual. Our server, Lisa, was efficient and professional, with a constant smile on her face. We were well taken care of throughout our meal.
The best part: the food!! My hubby had buffalo flank steak with cactus salsa, veggies, and yams. I ordered chicken-fried chicken with corn-bacon gravy, mashed potatoes, and grilled veggies. Everything was piping hot and delicious. I wasn't expecting our food to come out looking like gourmet, but it did and that was a nice surprise.
The worst part: the bill. For 2 meals, a soda, a beer, and the tip, we spent close to sixty dollars. That's generally more than we spend on a dinner for two, but since the food and service were both so good, we didn't leave feeling ripped off.
