We spent two days in Sedona during a recent 10 day " road trip" out West. After wandering around in the downtown area shopping, we decided to eat at "Sound Bites", because it had an interesting menu and funky interior. Everything was decorated with music in mind- paintings, mounted guitars on the walls, and other musical types of decorations. I loved the signed red Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar.
We sat in a booth with breathtaking views of the redrock hills and buttes of Sedona. Our waitress was prompt, very efficient and friendly. I ordered a "Top Shelf" margarita, Pasta e Fagioli soup, & a veggie burger with a side of black beans. Everything was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered pizza and he loved his also.
We observed a band coming in to practice on the big sound stage near the windows. Our waitress said they would be playing later on that night, so my husband and I decided to come back later that evening for some dancing.
Unfortunately we were recommended the Elote Cafe for dinner, and that is where we went. (Please see my review). We did NOT enjoy anything about that place, and I wish we had gone back to Sound Bites for dinner.
One thing I cannot figure out- how can the Elote Cafe be rated #1 in Sedona, with 20 terrible reviews, 28 Poor reviews, and 53 average reviews, when the Sound Bites Gill has NO terrible, 7 Poor, and 5 Average, and it's ranked #18???? Trip Advisor reviewers need to reevaluate this one for sure!! I am a picky "foodie", and expect much when I go out to eat, and Sound Bites delivered. We did go back to listen to the band, dance, and have an "after dinner drink", so the evening was not a total loss after all.
