Sedona itself is one of the most beautiful places in the world - peaceful and very relaxing. Our stay at the Dream Maker really completed our experience. We are a group of girls in our mid-late twenties and were traveling with the intention of getting away from our busy lives and spending some quality time together.
The Dream Maker is set back off Hwy 179 in a residential neighborhood, but manages to feel private and secluded as the property is shaded with trees and delicate landscaping creating the feel of being nestled in the mountains.
Phil greeted us and gave a brief "tour" of the common area and our room. We stayed in the Pinon Pine Suite which has it's own patio/sitting area with a hammock, two hanging chairs, rocking chair, etc. The room felt very cozy. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom very large - w/ a sink, toilet, stand up shower (w/ curtain) and two person jetted tub. There were plenty of towels, body wash, lotion, etc. Side note: the countertop in the bathroom is very high (i didn't mind it) but if you are very short, you may wish to request a step stool...there may have been one in our room somewhere?
We also got to check out the Victorian Suite which has a HUGE bed w/ a matress topper that looked very luxurious!
The common area includes a dining table, sitting couch, sink and refrigerator for your use. After reading about Dee's favorite recipes online, we were looking forward to a real treat - but unfortuantely she did not not make any of the recipes posted. I have stayed at a few other BB's and one other in Sedona. Breakfast was definitely great, but not outstanding. We were served home made banana nut muffins (delicious), eggs, sausage and a fresh fruit in yogurt w/ granola. The second morning we were served Breakfast Pie which was eggs, sausage, avocado, etc...in a pie crust. It was served again with the banana nut muffin and fruit/yogurt/granola. Being that I rarely get to each much more than cereal in the mornings, the breakfasts were super, I can't complain. They were delicious and very filling. There was also fresh orange juice and coffee available. It just all depends on what you are expecting :)
The inn keepers were also very friendly and helpful with regard to offering up restaurant recommendations and things to do. As suggested by Phil....I HIGHLY recommend the Cowboy Club (Silver Saddle Room) for dinner and also Cuchina Rustica, which is just across the street from the Dream Maker. We had truly OUTSTANDING dinners at both restaurants. A very fine dining experience, reasonable prices and exceptional food.
Overall....the Dream Maker was a very peaceful experience and we would most definitely return. In fact, we can't wait to go back!
