“A little pricey but great location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We paid a premium price for a creek-side suite, but the "creek" is not much to look at. The only real "views" from the hotel are located around the beautiful hotel pool (we were taking bets on how many iphones get dropped in the pool every day and decided the over/under line would be 2.5). The hike up to town is significant but doable and once you reach the top you just have to dodge and weave to avoid the crystal dealers and time-share salesmen.

Pro-tip - the hotel has a fleet (ok 4 or 5) Trek mtn bikes with disk brakes available for use. Grab one and head up the road (1 mile or so) to Jim Thompson Trail (i think). Pretty legit mtn biking that is virtually in downtown.

Room Tip: I wouldn't pay for the "creek-side" option.

My boyfriend and I came for a relaxing get away! We loved the view! And loved the pool!

But when we went to get our couples massage we were told that "20% tip is requested but not required " you never tell your client how much to tip... That made us want to tip less!

We know etiquette is 20% and for a good massage we give it ... But don't tell me it when I check in .

The food was ok .. Not great ... But the staff was AMAZING!

The room was clean , bed not so comfortable .

But a nice stay overall . Will probably be back :)

We loved this hotel, as soon as we arrived our bags were unloaded and our car parked. The valet lads were great. They also dropped us up to a mile away and picked us up for free in the evenings when we went out.

The rooms are very new modern and clean. The pool and hot tub have a lovely view. We sat in the hot tub at 10pm under the stars, very relaxing. All the outdoor furniture seemed to be brand new so I think this has been refurbished.

Lots of little extras at this hotel that we loved .......chocolate strawberries in our fridge and free teas/ coffee all day in reception.

We were very happy here, just wished we stayed longer

Stayed here for a wedding. We got a creek side room which turned out to be nothing special except the very high price. The restaurant was just average and not really worth the resort fee's either. For the prices you pay I had expected much better

Room Tip: Not sure there is a good room

My wife and I stayed at the Amara Resort and Spa from 08/17/14-08/19/14 in a standard king room with a $25 per day resort credit. The resort is located in the heart of downtown Sedona, an excellent location. As soon as you pull up and meet the valets you will notice the excellent service at Amara. I actually saw one valet run to get a visitor's car and they make every effort to always get the door for you. If you need water before you leave, just ask, they have a cooler, with bottled water, outside by the door. There are also fruit infused water dispensers by the front door as well. Check in was smooth and we were assigned room 205. It wasn't the greatest view, we over looked the parking lot, but we did have a partial view of the mountains. We didn't pay for an upgraded room but it still wasn't bad. The upgraded views are overlooking the pool and mountains in the background. they have nice views but absolutely no privacy. The room itself is average size and the balcony isn't large. It barely fits a small table and two chairs. We never had the urge to sit out there. The bathroom is good size, not huge but not small either. There was a tub and one sink with Bigelow bath products and a hair dryer. I found that there was no where to hang up towels. There was no coffee maker in the room which I find inconvenient. The customer has to get dressed, go downstairs, wait for other people to get their coffee, and carry it back to their rooms. The resort was quiet when we were there and it was quiet by the pool too. The pool is a small, shallow, infinity pool overlooking the creek with the mountains in the background. Around the pool were lounge chairs a couple of cabanas and outdoor couches, which were nice. There was an employee stationed by the pool to get food and drinks. At 5:00 PM, Amara has wine tasting in the lobby with appetizers, which was a nice perk. There is also a shuttle you can take into town if you don't feel like walking, another nice service to customers. We ate by the pool a couple of times and found the food to be good and not crazily over priced. On a side note, PUT DOWN YOUR CELL PHONES and actually have a conversation with your parents and/or children while eating a meal! Okay, back to the review. My wife had one of the body wrap treatments and a massage at the spa and thought it was one of the done best spa treatments she has ever experienced. Included in the resort fee is the use of the locker room, showers, steam room, tranquility room, and valet tips. I used the locker room facilities and while I enjoyed using them, I thought it was a bit small. My only other critique is that I thought the carpets could be cleaner or even replaced. They seemed on the dirty side to me. Over all, a great stay. The Amara's short comings are over shadowed by their excellent service, location, and perks like the shuttle and the wine tasting.

Room Tip: If you choose a room with a pool and mountain view, you will get a great view but you will have no p...

This property has a great location right in the centre of Sedona, a perfect base to explore the area. The rooms and public spaces were comfortable and modern. There is free wifi if you are a member of the rewards programme as well as a 10usd voucher to be used for the bar or minibar. Valet parking is included in the rate. The hotel also offers a drinks reception in the evening which is a nice touch. The gym and pool are nice and were not overcrowded. The room service was convenient, relatively fast and quite extensive. Ultimately it was the service that stood out, all staff members were friendly and professional. They genuinely seemed to want to make you feel welcome and your stay pleasurable. I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay. Probably best location for a lux hotel if you want something in middle of uptown (just a walk up the hill).

Service was great and view and location is incredible.

Only negative was noisy AC

Room Tip: Creekside corners overlooking pool. Both pool and creek view. just an FYI that some creekside r...
