“Sedona has the views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Stayed at Amara for two nights - the rooms are nice - try to get a room that doesn't have a tree blocking your views of surroundings! There were some that faced the pool area and interior courtyard. You really have to pay attention to your driving directions when you first come into town it is down the hill from the main street! Staff were all helpful and friendly - if driving - your "valet" service is included in your resort fee...Rooms are nice - bathrooms and showers are really nice - beds comfy - but beware - the elevator that services the 2nd floor only works for the "main" building and you are still potentially dragging your suitecase down hallways, sets of stairs (3 or 4 - like a split level set up) and it is a bit of a hassle if you are tired and cranky that day LOL - Didn't eat at the hotel restaurant but read good reviews. Property is in a quiet location and the view of the mountains from the hot tub is really spectacular. I believe this is a "pet friendly" hotel as there were a few four legged furry guests - so if you are missing your fuzzy critter you can visit with one...in fact all of Sedona seems quite pet friendly. Nice stay and would go back again.

“Intimate resort in the heart of Sedona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We stayed at the Amara Resort for 2 nights last week. The place has a really luxurious feel but also feels intimate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was carefully put together and we appreciated the large closet, Starbucks coffee, and complimentary water bottles. The kids enjoyed the pool but it is relatively small. The location itself is beautiful with incredible views from the pool and restaurant. The rooms were quiet as well. My husband and I went to the lobby bar for a drink before bed. When the bartender was out of the first 2 things I ordered, he ended up not charging me for my drink. The resort is close to several restaurants and provides a shuttle if you don't want to walk. One suggestion we had was for the staff to have restaurant recommendations that span price ranges and types. The recommendations we received were for fairly pricey places. We were traveling with 2 kids and were looking for something a bit less shi-shi. We ended up searching the Internet for other options. Also, the shower is tough to use as the lever makes it hard to turn off the water completely and we never really had hot water. Our kids enjoyed the stay but this place is probably not set up with younger kids in mind. That said, we would certainly consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Better to be on the side that does not face the pool if you want a quieter stay.

“A Wonderful Location in Sedona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

The hotel is right in the middle of old town. First class accomodations and service. Great setting along the creek. Better value than L'Aberge next door. The spa was very very good and the staff was excellent and professional. The Hundred Rox restaurant was very good and a much better value than the dinner at L'Aberge the night before.

Room Tip: We had a creek side suite. Wonderful setting

“Great, low key place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I stayed here with some friends for a guy's weekend of biking at the beginning of November. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place itself has a nice modern feeling with a great view of Lucy Rock from the dining room, bar and patio. The fire pits were a great spot for a few beers on a cool evening and the infinity pool and hot tub were great for the end of a long day on a bike. I was particularly impressed with the mattresses, very soft. There were some misses like the water cooler going empty and sitting overnight with oranges at the bottom and a funky shower lever but it's very minor stuff.

This is a nice low key alternative to L'Auberge next door and a great place for a small group, couples to stay. I'm not sure this would work as well for a family with small children. I'll be back, when I don't have the kids.

“Valet Brian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

My daughter and myself were treated like celebrities while we stayed at this property. Brian drove us to whatever our destination was and we would just have to call to be picked up in the hotel van. The driver was outstanding!

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside are the best!
