We are big fans of the Hyatt! Everytime we stay at one of their properties, they never disappoint. This place has more of a condo type feel probably because this is a "vacation club" property. We stayed in a Studio Suite which included a Queen bed, pull out twin sofa bed, mini kitchen (small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plates, utensils), safe (large enough to put a laptop in), standard bathroom, and a patio. We were on the second floor facing the beautiful views of Sedona!
After we checked in, we met with the concierge to see what was around us (grocery stores, restaurants, points of interest, etc.) She was very helpful and gave us many tips. We took advantage of the "Vacation Club" talk (about an hour out of your day) and got $150 resort credit which you can use toward your room or to use toward a Pink Jeep Tour. We did the Pink Jeep Tour. I highly suggest it!
The grounds are beautiful. The pool is higher up on the property so the views from there are amazing! When you get your towels, ask for robes too. There is a rec room where you can play pool, read, watch tv, play games, use the internet. Or you can enjoy a game of ping pong outside while bbqing using one of two gas grills and your family can watch sitting on the cushioned patio seat area. They have a gym with very nice equipment in there...didn't use it, as I'm on vacation:| The locker rooms are equipped with steam rooms and showers. The gas fire pit was nice to sit by at night and look at the stars. If it's too cold for you, there are 2 hot tubs onsite as well. If you need time away from the kids, they have Camp Runamaka (daycare service for a fee).
This property is walking distance to the shopping area of Sedona. There is also a small shopping center next door to the property that contains a Starbucks and a couple of restaurants. It's convenient especially if you don't feel like driving anywhere.
The only con would be that since this place is situated on a hillside, there might be a lot of stairs to get to your room. Ours was closer to the bottom of the hill, so we had to trek our suitcases up and down the stairs. So if you have issues with walking up and down stairs, I would ask the front desk if there are any rooms available where it is easily accessible.
I would definitely stay here again!
