“Great dinner!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Decided to try this out after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. I had the sirloin with mushrooms and Gorgonzola...cooked perfect and great flavor. Hubby had the pork chop special with caramel, pecans and apples...it was 3 fingers thick and was so yummy. Our kids (14&12yrs) each had the create your own pasta dish. They picked a protein and veggies and a sauce. They both enjoyed their dishes. I really enjoyed the Prickly Pear Margarita...ok 2 of them! Another great find with the help of Tripadvisor.

“A Treasure in Sedona!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

After a long day of traveling, my family was looking forward to a good meal to end our day. We were not disappointed! The Golden Goose was located next door to where we were staying, which worked well for us. Our server was Hernando, and he provided excellent service from beginning to end. The food was excellent, the atmosphere upscale, and the prices were reasonable. We would recommend The Golden Goose without reservation!

“Good Food & Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

My wife and I ate there on a trip in Sedona. We went based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. I had filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad. My wife had Alfredo pasta and salad. I would have rated this 5 stars except the pasta was not good. No taste, very bland, and kind of wondered what you were eating. However, my steak, potatoes, and salads were excellent. We also really liked the hot fresh bread with butter. The service was great and they were fast and attentive. We were just very disappointed in the pasta- otherwise it was very good.

“Mediocre at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We had a late lunch at 1:30 p.m. and there was only one other table occupied. My sister ordered the Gorgonzola Burger (medium-well) and it was totally lacking in flavor other than the strong "meat" flavor (it didn't taste like quality meat). The gorgonzola sauce was milky and without flavor, though there were lots of mushrooms. Her burger came with shoestring fries which were hot and tasty. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and was disappointed at the 4 thin slices of roast beef (with a strong "beefy" flavor -- again, it didn't taste like quality meat). The French Dip was on thin and flavorless sourdough bread, but the the au jus was quite good. The bread had been doused in an oil or butter of some sort and then lightly grilled, resulting in a greasy/soggy texture. The side salad was just fine, with fresh veggies and an okay in-house dressing. Our server was busy filling salt and pepper shakers and ending her shift, though the service was okay. Overall it was mediocre. The food wasn't good, but wasn't horrible, either.

“A true hidden treasure!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This was one of the most wonderful dining experiences!! The building is nothing noteworthy but we walked into a neat, spacious, inviting dining atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed & seated in very cozy seats. LouAnn treated us like old friends as she took our orders. Everything she recommended was perfect. The bill came & we were shocked at how low it was. Overall, it was an incredible experience.
