“Way to Roll for Grand Canyon Day Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2010

Carl of Silver Spur picked up our family of four in a very comfortable ride / mercedes van last week in Sedona. We picked up two more people on the way up to the Canyon and the six of us with Carl had a great day. Much better than a more crowded tour van with bench seats. Silver spur has nice large windows for viewing. A DVD player and reclining leather captains chairs for passengers with plenty of room for your day bag. We stopped by the Double Eagle trading company on the way up where my son picked up a hand made pocket knife. Carl put in a video about the discovery of the Grand Canyon and gave lots of info on the geological formation of Sedona, the Grand Canyon and cultural history etc which dovetailed nicely with my daughters recent Science unit last spring. The day at the Canyon was relaxed and included a number of stops along the south rim giving us enough time to take in the canyon and get some pictures taken. The lunch provided with sandwiches tasted great. We also had time to pop into El Tovar for a quick Gin & Tonic and soda's. On the way back we stopped at an outdoor bazzar on the Navajo reservation. Great deals and the best pottery you will ever find. Mom and I and kids picked up some nice jewelry and other items. Highly recommended for stress free day touring. After each stop the van was right in front with the AC on. No walking to the parking lot to find your hot car or trying to figure out where to go and what stops to make. Carl knew the place well and was a great guide.

We took your Grand Canyon tour in May, 2010. We had a wonderful time, the trip exceeded our expectations! We loved everything, the van, the food, the guide and everything was top-notch. Keep up the great work. We definitely will recommend you. Thanks again!

This tour company is well worth checking out. They offer great tours of the grand canyon, top notch mercedes touring vans, with top notch guides. They give you comfort, and go places the other tours don't. I really can't say enough about them. If in Sedona or Flagstaff give them a chance to show you luxury at a fair price.

“A truly Magical Day in Sedona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2009

My husband and I visited Sedona and Flagstaff at the beginning of October this year. This was our first trip to Arizona.

We spent the first two days in Sedona and with limited time, decided to book a tour rather than trying to see all the sights ourselves. This is also the first time we booked a tour anywhere as we usually prefer to find our own way around. I did the usual InterNet search and found Silver Spur Tours...and, oh what a find!

Our guide, Carl, picked us up at 9:00a.m. at the Best Western, Arroyo Roble, Sedona! It was a quiet time and John and I were the only people on the tour, and did we ever luck out! Not only was Carl incredibly personable, without being intrusive, he was filled with the most amazing knowledge of the Sedona area.
He took us EVERYWHERE and to places we couldn't possibly have found by ourselves.

We saw so many sights, too many to describe here but here are a few: All the various Red Rock formations and there are many! the Chapel in the hills; Montezumas Cave; We spent a lot of time in Oak Creek Canyon and it is truly incredible. We had lunch at a small roadside restaurant there and travelled up to the peak where there was a wonderful market. The views there were amazing. At every turn, we thought things couldn't get better, but they did!

Carl gave us a lot of space and allowed us to see everything at our leisure.

We returned to our hotel at around 5:30 and even then we had yet another surprise. Carl presented us with beautiful aluminum waterbottles and a gift pack of gourmet food (which we immediately dug into on our hotel balcony with a glass of wine!!)

We truly had a magical day and our only regret was that we didn't know about Silver Spur Tours and Carl before we booked with another tour group to see The Grand Canyon. We had already booked and paid for the Grand Canyon tour so couldn't cancel, however compared to everything we experienced with Silver Spur Tours and Carl, the next tour was very disappointing. As the expression says, when you've had the best? and we certainly did with Silver Spur Tours and Carl!!!
