“Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

This surely has to be the best location in Sedona, overlooking the town to the red rocks beyond. I'm so glad a friend recommended this place as it made my stay.
The room staff and the management have integrity and high standards - I left some CDs and an old necklace in the room because I did not want them any more and they contacted me to ask me if I wanted them mailed. How many places do you know that would do that?

Cozy rooms. Many rooms with beautiful views. Near many trails leading to vortexes. Pool, hot tub, lovely flowers and wine bar. Reasonable rates. Great place to stay away from the hubbub of downtown Sedona any time of the year.

Room Tip: Ask for view.

The lodge is situated above Sedona next to airport and has great views. The gardens are lovely and there some nice walks around this area. It's much larger than I had realised - there was quite a long wait at checkin.

The room was clean, large and well furnished, with a fridge, microwave and coffee making facilities - also had mugs which was a plus! Bed was reasonably comfy and comfortable chairs and a table in the room and on the patio. The views from the patio and the front were wonderful and you can watch the sun setting over the hills.

The negatives - old fashioned TV and furniture a bit scratched - but plenty of it to put your belongings. The towels were small and the sheets were cheap and scratchy. Toilet paper cheap! If the quality of these had been better, would have given 5 stars! Lighting also a bit dim.

I recently stayed at Sky Ranch to attend a professional conference nearby. This was my fifth stay at this property. While the hotel itself is nothing spectacular, it is the view which keeps me coming back. I stayed in one of the rooms with a kitchenette which worked well with a small fridge, microwave, sink and coffee machine. The bathtub was an issue as the water did not completely turn off resulting in a continuously dripping faucet. The room was relatively clean, however could use some updating. The beds are comfortable and I had a restful sleep during my stay.
The pool area is adequate but small and could use some more adjustable reclining loungers. Parking is convenient and I was able to park right in front of my hotel room which gave me the feeling of "coming home". All in all, this is a 3 star hotel with a spectacular view which gives it the "extra" star. While I would normally stay in an higher end property, the price mark at Sky Ranch is fair and the service friendly. I would definitely return but would knowingly moderate my expectations.

Room Tip: Definitely spend the extra money for a room with a view. It makes the hotel what it is.

A local tipped us off to the comfortable and uniquely-situated Sky Ranch Lodge located beside Sedona's small airport atop a lovely mesa. It's pet-friendly and very comfortable. A nice feature is a large gathering area on the west side of the hotel where guests can walk to ooh and ahh at the beautiful sunsets as they look over the incredibly beautiful Sedona valley below. Another nice feature is an easy four mile trail that rings the mesa and offers 360 degree views of the whole Sedona area, well worth the hour and a half effort.
The Lodge also features a beautiful swimming pool and large spa.
Also, a very nice surprise was the short walk to the airport restaurant. This restaurant is not your typical small-airport eatery! The food was delicious and the service friendly while we watched the comings and goings of tourist helicopters and bi-planes.

A truly peaceful resting stop up at the Airport Mesa. Many alternative rooms or cabins. The amenities are very nice and the check in is very easy and pleasant. You can have a very nice Garden view or even a view from the Rm Room!

Room Tip: The Best is a Rm View, but a Garden Room is very, very pleasant

Sedona is a very clean and affluent AZ 'city'. Sky Ranch Lodge is situated high up on the Mesa right next door to the airport. Don't be put off as helicopters and light aircraft only operate and very minimal noise. The views from hotel over Sedona are breathtaking, esp at sunset. The rooms were basic but clean and air conditioned . Bungalows set in beautiful hotel grounds, reminiscent of African Safari accommodation . Staff very helpful, nice small pool area, quiet and secluded. Very nice bar area and great value for money.
