My sis and I visited Tlaquepaque at the end of Feb. I agree with the most recent posts that it is pretty much just a shopping mall but I did think the architecture was interesting. We are not shopping people but had some time to kill so walked around there. One word of caution: do NOT buy any candy from the chocolate shop; it is horrible chocolate! It is worse quality than ‘made in bulk’ candy companies. We did eat at Joey’s; see that restaurant for a review.

If you have time to kill, it’s worth the trip. Otherwise, you can skip it.

This is a very beautiful area with some nice shopping. However, we thought the art to be quite over priced. There are some neat stores, but mostly it is an overpriced shopping area. We did eat at El Rincon, which was great mexican food. Rene's also looked really nice, but it was packed and we didnt feel like waiting. We poked around in a few shops, but were ultimately bored and decided to leave. Parking in the lot is a nightmare!!!!

While its very pretty and charming, Tlaquepaque is really just an upscale shopping center. I went there expecting to see artists and hear music. It must not have been the right day or time (Friday, midday). There is so much else to see and do in the Sedona area. Why waste your time on a manufactured Mexican shopping village?

My husband and I stopped here and found it to be just okay. Nothing great, shops were nice but a little on the expensive side. We had lunch at El Rincon and were very disappointed. While the heated outdoor patio was very nice, we found the food bland and boring. With all there is to see and do in Sedona, I would put this at the far bottom of the list.
