“Fantastic Hiking Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We did this hike on a recommendation from a local because it offered mid day shade and 13 creek crossings. We weren''t disappointed and had an amazing 2 hour walk through forest and canyon views and the remains of a Lodge that was once a movie star mecca.

We love to spot wildlife wherever we go and we saw some stunning Lizards, Birds and even the shy resident Garter Snakes (we saw a group of 3 by the creek bed).

This is a fabulous and very easy walk for people of all ages, the creek crossings can take some working out but the water is less than ankle deep should you make a mistake.

We turned around before we reached the end of the trail because the weather suddenly closed in and it looked like iminent rain... if we had carried on it would have passed within 15 minutes, however we got enough of a taste for the trail that we will do it again on our next trip.

“Loved criss-crossing the stream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Loved this easy hike through the woods next to a stream. Much of it was shady which was great on a hot July morning. Kids would love crossing the stream or swimming in one of the deeper areas. Nice hike to take a lunch since there are many places to sit on a rock and enjoy the view. BTW, Indian Gardens, small coffee and sandwich, salad restaurant has great food to take along or a beautiful garden area to eat in when you return. We went on a weekday and it was not crowded. Oak Creek is a lovely area.

“Extremely fun hike!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Shaded, easy out and back hike. Tons of river crossings and ends at a shallow canyon pool which you can wade into. Bring water shoes or flip flops to fully enjoy the canyon pool at the end unless you have very tough feet! We saw many people trying to do this hike with 1 small bottle of water and turning back... It is a 6 mile total hike so be sure to be prepared with plenty of water and snacks. Highly recommended!

“13 Water passes that I will never forget!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We loved this trail! You can do as much or as little as you wish... many people we met along the way just did a part of the trail. We chose to do it all and get to the very rewarding end site where the two sides of the canyon meet and you cant go further... Gorgeous! Take your time, this is about 4-5 hours long, depends of course on how fast you walk... but you will want to stop many times and raise your head and look at the magnificent views of huge rocks, trees, birds... one of the best trails we have ever done. Bring lots of water and snacks so you can get to the end safely! (and of course, a camera!!!)

“Beautiful flat hike -- great views of canyon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Cross the creek at least 15 times if you hike the whole trail. This is one of our three fans -- Cathedral Rock and Devils Bridge being the other two.
