“Never tire of this hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

This trail was the first one we hiked in Sedona on our honeymoon in 1999 and we've hiked it several times since. We never tire of the meandering trail, the surprises at each turn and the beautiful views of Boynton Canyon. Even seeing the resort is nice since it's so lovely and tucked into the canyon.

“Beautiful way to see Canyon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Stayed at Enchantment so we had easy access to the trail. Walked in both directions. Especially liked walk to the right (if Enchantment is behind you) and climbing up spire. Enjoyed hearing sounds of man playing the flute from up top several days.

“Lots of people, good views.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We are not used to hiking with crowds which was true of this hike on a Sunday. The views were very nice, but it's hard to get used to the New Age atmosphere. We just like wilderness, which was not really available. For the first half of the hike you walk next to a resort, including a threatening sign and video surveilance. It's not a hard hike, mostly a gradual uphil, but best to go when it's cool.

“Nice Except for the Resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

It was quiet when we got out of the car, with the exception of the indian flute music being played somewhere in the canyon. It was eerily beautiful. We ran into the flutist at the vista point, at the beginning of the trail. He handed us each a heart shaped rock and asked if we had seen them on the trail up to the vista point. Sure enough on the way down we noticed the heart shaped rocks everywhere. The vista point is one of the many vortexes in Sedona.

The 6 mile round trip hike (excluding the vista point) was a little more strenuous than advertised, unless you're in really good shape or it's less than 90 degrees out. First half of hike is along Enchantment Resort who, judging by their signage, do not welcome hikers. Second half of trail was beautiful and I imagine in the springtime it has lots of water and even waterfalls. There's a tough climb up the canyon wall at the end. Will probably not repeat this hike on our next trip.

“Boynton Canyon hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Loved the way the hike meandered and eventually got you there. What a nice easy day. Took some out of town guest that don't hike very often and they found it to be a pretty easy hike. Not to much climbing which was nice for these old bones. Plenty of places to sit and catch your breath, or to meditate and just absorb the beauty.
