“A quiet option a bit further from the airport”

Once we had managed to find this hotel on a quiet side street check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable and a reasonable size with 2 queen beds. A plus for us was that the hotel actually had elevators! Many of the hotels we stayed in whilst travelling for 3 weeks did not and we got quite tired carrying all our luggage up and down the stairs. The complimentary breakfast was quite good although it was very crowded when we were there. Check-out was efficient as the bill had been prepared during night. We stayed here on the night before our flight home from Phoenix and we found it to be an approximately 30 minute drive to the airport. The only downside for us was that, arriving after dark, there was nowhere open nearby to get something to eat and nothing at the hotel.

Stayed here around New Year's and found the place to basically meet all my expectations. They had a nice breakfast in the mornings that opened early (6:30 I think) which included muffins, danishes, hard-boiled eggs, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, bagels and toast, juices, coffee, cereals/oatmeal, etc. Really, it was very nice. There is a nice pool and grassy area out back as well. The room was clean, if a bit worn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downsides were that the lobby restroom seemed to be constantly messy/dirty, and the business center was closed during my stay. They do have free Wi-Fi though, so that was helpful. There is a Macaroni Grill within a 5 minute walk, and a California Pizza Kitchen across the street just a little bit more than 5 minutes walking. The Scottsdale Fashion Square is a direct 15-20 minute drive, and Sky Harbor Airport is about 20-25 minutes, direct and quick.

    • Disliked — A bit worn all around, but not bad.

“Worse Service and Stay”

Our stay atarted on Oct 19th with the room having two Queen beds, when booking we stated 1 king for each room. The phone in the room didn't work, we advised the front desk and they said that someone would be up to fix. This was for outgoing calls only. We placed a wakeup call for the next morning for 9am to take advantage of their Continental Breakfast. NO phone wakeup, so we missed the Breakfast. We went out of room back to front desk to advise of phone situation again. They promised to fix again. Due to no safe in room we had to take all our valuables out of room, due to the possible maintenance person in the room to see what was up with the phone. We came back to room at 3pm and only 1 of the rooms being cleaned we needed to be at a wedding by 5pm. 1 maid to clean 1 floor seemed ridiculous, needless to say I thought the rooms should have been cleaned before 3pm. So, only 1 room got cleaned as we had to use the other room for showers and such to get ready for the wedding. They never offered to to change sheets on the beds. NO the phone had never been fixed!!!!

This was the WORST hotel to stay in!!! I would never suggest this for any stay to even my worst enemy!!!

“nice quiet placce”

Comfort Inn

Oct 30, 2007

checked in at 12:30 am. Was given a room on the third floor. The room was a bit musty smelling. Too tired to worry. The hallways smelled of smoke. But overall the room was okay. Free wifi so cant complain. I was expecting a roach or too..but didn't find them, so i was pretty happy. No stains of any sort. The breakfast was minimal coffee, juice, bagels, waffles, cereals. Overall a very quiet property. Reception guys were helpful. Do have lunch or dinner at the Macroni grill down the road. Paid $100 a night so i cant complain. But overall if you are looking for place to crash, clean rooms, no frills this would be the place. Wouldn't mind trying some other place if I can be guaranteed the same cleanliness and pricing.

FIRST GLANCE AT WALK THROUGH:
The hotel seemed like a nice size and had a comfortable demeanor about it when you walk in. The lobby looked clean and the staff was friendly.

THE PRO'S:
- The room was clean
- The location was nice but I believe the site said it has 20 restaurants within walking distance...I don't know where THEY are walking but I didn't see 20 of them! :) It did have a Macaroni Grill within walking distance so that was a plus.
- The breakfast was good. They had the standard fare...cereal, muffins, coffee, bagels, etc.
- It had a small business center with internet so that helped.

THE CON'S:
- The elevator was a little scary because it would not close sometimes and would open by itself with no one in the doorway.

OVERALL:
I would stay there again. It was in a nice part of Scottsdale and restaurants were not too far away. Plus it was only a 5-10 minute drive to Highway 101 which helped when you are trying to get to different parts of Phoenix.
