“Very Average Hilton Garden Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2010

This is an average to below average Hilton Garden Inn. The rooms were small and the AC was very noisy during the night. Not sure why the housekeeping kept our blinds open when it was 110 outside, but the room was extremely hot upon arrival and took a while for it to get comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance of Old Town Scottsdale and a short drive to the Phoenix airport and downtown. TV was below average andthe wireless internet worked very well. The fitness center was useless.

I used my Hilton points for this stay. If I had to pay the base rate of $160, I would have been disappointed.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and will be returning next week! If you want to stay in the Oldtown Scottsdale area, this is the place to stay! Great location and the hotel is everything you can expect from a Hilton Garden Inn and then some.

Stayed at the hotel on the final night of a family holiday prior to flying from Phoenix to the UK. We found the hotel quiet, the staff attentive and the rooms large and well equipped. The swimming pool was very good (and warm) but the pool towels were the smallest we’ve ever seen. The underground parking (self-parking) was easy to access. With a late evening flight, we found the late check-out (2pm) particularly useful. Drive to airport car hire base was around 20 minutes (be aware that free shuttle after dropping off the car takes several minutes to the main terminals).

The hotel is just across the main road from the Old Town (stores in an Old West-type setting). Interesting area to walk around with some good restaurants (check out the coupon book from the hotel which gets 15% off most). Would recommend a visit to the Sugar Bowl ice cream fountain / restaurant which has changed little since opening in 1958. The free trolley bus is also a good way to get around out of the heat

This hotel is fantastic. The location is amazing. You can walk to over hundreds of restaurants and shops. The room was really nice and bright. The staff was great. Front desk was very helpful. You can't beat free parking in this area!

We checked into the hotel on Friday evening, 5/21. First room they gave us (supposedly an upgrade) - televisions were from the '60s and the rooms were very dark....A/C very noisy. Called and they moved us again....this room was not much better....A/C made all kinds of noises. Finally moved us to another room that was nice....very large and bright/ spacious. The A/C though made noises throughout the night. Maybe 'cause it is NOT a central air hotel and these noises are normal, but I think that it is not normal.

DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL -- THERE ARE NICER HOTELS AROUND AND THE MANAGEMENT WASN'T NICE!!!@

I stayed at The Hilton Garden Inn in Old Town Scottsdale for a long weekend to play golf and enjoy old town. I chose the hotel because of its great location and reasonable price. The lowest price that I found for the hotel online was $149.00 per night. However, upon checking the hotel's page on twitter.com a special was available for $119.00 per night. The check in process ran very smoothly. Our room was a standard double located on the four floor. It was very average. (Reminded me of a renovated Holiday Inn) The bathroom was rather small, however, there was ample space located between the beds and television. The only noticeable defect in the room was that a portion of the wall was peeling and the paint was chipped. I would not have expected this type of thing in a property that bears the Hilton name.

The breakfast was average. (much like the one you get at an airport hotel) It was quick and convenient but nothing that will be memorable.

All and all, a very average hotel in a great location.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 1 week for a golf vacation and picked this hotel for central location and vicinity to Old Scottsdale. When we arrived we were dissappointed with the room for the price. It seemed dated, no fitted bottom sheet, tub was damaged, shower didnt work well. Although it worked out ok, and seemed clean enough, if our wives were travelling with us we would have had to move. The good things were the free parking, wireless internet, breakfast ($11) and location is great, really close to old town and restaurants. I believe night clubs are close by. The real dissappointment was the hot tub. I had a disgusting gob of slime in the bottom and wasnt cleaned all week. Nobody used the hot tub during the week we were there. Given the lack of maintenance on the hot tub, we weren't too excited to use the pool, which was only marginally cleaner. I am sure other guests have better experiences here than we did,
