If you are headed to old town, this place is in the right spot. You can walk to all sorts of shopping and eateries. The hotel had some construction going on when I was there and they claimed that they had been recently updated. To that I say, you can only do so much with an old building.
Arrival: The front of the hotel faces the street but the parking garage entrance is between the door and the street so it's not real obvious where the check in area is if you're new. The lobby area is very nice and clearly some work has been done here.
The room: The elevators are an indication of the age of this building. I was on the 5th floor and found the stairs to be much faster than the 2 elevators. The room upon first entrance had that disinfectant smell of an older hotel room. The room was very clean and the smell kind of goes away after you're in there for a while. The beds were comfortable to me.
I did not eat at the hotel or work out but I checked out the facilities and they were typical. When it's 75 in Phoenix, you run outside.
One really nice feature is the free self park in the garage. I have parked a car in this area in the sun at other times of the year and did I mention it was free? Not like the more expensive Marriott across the street who charges $10 a day to park your own car.
Overall a nice clean place, very friendly staff, and not a bad price for the area.

The hotel was beautiful and staff was helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant was very good but not complimentary. The underground garage was very nice as it was raining. We were celebrating my birthday so we wanted a special room with a real Jacuzzi in it. When we arrived we were upgraded to a "suite" which was cool and it still had an "in-room Jacuzzi"... but is simply a tub with jets and bubbles which doesn't hold 2 people comfortably, and we were extremely disappointed because we went 50 miles out of our way for this single amenity. When we asked the concierge about it she explained that's how all their rooms are. So we went to the outside Jacuzzi and were asked to leave as it closed at 11pm, even though we were being very quiet and not bothering anyone. Connecting to their wireless internet is cumbersome.

I had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this hotel. I enjoyed a nice quiet room, had a great workout and indulged in their delicious breakfast. The hotel staff couldn't have been more pleasant! There are a variety of things to enjoy within walking distance (hence: awesome weather). I felt completely safe walking to the shopping mall about 15 minutes away. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

I arrived for business and stayed two extra days for leisure with my husband. It was my first time visiting Arizona. Had a wonderful stay. Hotel was nice, rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. Great location to restaurants and shops.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Nov 7th -Nov 12.
We were in Phoenix for the NASCAR weekend. Although the hotel is a 40 min drive to the track we wanted to stay in Scottsdale.
Great choice for us. The hotel is across the street from Old Town and you can walk to all the restaurants and shops.
Very clean hotel with friendly staff. The underground parking is a bonus. Will definitely stay there again.

conveniently located at 20 mins from PHX airport and next to the Old Town centre. Spacious rooms with microwave, excellent coffee machine. Nice and clean showers. Very comfertable bed. Friendly staff. The breakfast is quite a feats, although the "restaurant" part is more a lobby. Plenty of parking space underground.

I would definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends. Our 3 day stay was wonderful. Room was very accommodating, clean and welcoming. Food from on-site restaurant was good and we enjoyed the 7 day 5-7:00 p.m. happy hour.
