Paying $300 per night at this hotel you would think one would be entitled to a little rest and relaxation. Think again, my friends. Marriott at McDowell Mountains is right next to Scottsdale airport and it is right in the flight path for incoming and outgoing planes. The planes start flying over around 6am and run 10-15 per hour through out the day. It is so loud I had to close my balcony door, and even then you can still hear the planes. I slept with earplugs and a pillow over my head last night but the planes still woke me up this morning. The beds are nice and it is quiet when planes aren't flying over, but I was constantly reminded of the outside world both by the plane noise and whenever my neighbors flush their toilet, mine flushes too. Got to love it. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway.... stay somewhere else. Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains isn't for you.
