“Excellent staff, accommodations, and experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

I recently stayed at the Phoenician while working a business conference on the property. I cannot say enough great things about this place! My room was spectacular. The bathrooms are huge and the beds are by far the most comfortable I have ever slept in aside from those in my own home. On my down time I enjoyed sitting on my private patio or dining on the fabulous meals provided by room service (special thanks to Caleb and Logan for the prompt and friendly service).
If you're looking for a place to host a business meeting, conference, etc, this is the place to do it! The entire staff was so accommodating and willing to help whenever they could. The banquet service staff treated me like a queen while I was working. One woman in particular, Rosa, went above and beyond to help us. On the first morning she went and got coffee for some of the staff (not just any cup of coffee - very specific latte orders). The next morning so arrived a little after 7am with the same coffee orders as the day before! Not only did she remember our orders and go get them for us, but she also did this while working another area of the building. Rosa, Leonardo, and many others made this experience great for us. I really cannot thank them enough for their hospitality.
Bottom line: stay at the Phoenician! Whether for business or pleasure, I highly recommend it!

My wife and I stayed at the phoencian in May for a 4 day getaway. It was absolutely incredible. From the moment we checked in to the time we left the staff was some of the best we've seen. Our room was in the Casitas (which I highly recommend) and our view was of the lagoon and waterfall...it was great. The pools were fantastic and we enjoyed 3 days of pretty empty times. Unfortunately it got pretty busy on Saturday, but every other day it was wide open. We had tremendous food at the il terraso Cafe overlooking the pools. Ask for Paul the best server we've ever had and he will take care of you. If you are platinum on starwood get the breakfast for your amenity as Paul hooked us up with a great breakfast that wasn't a buffet every day. Really outstanding food, service and place. Would highly recommend during the week to experience and just relax.

Room Tip: Casitas ground floor is the best. Closer to the pools and recreation facilities.

I have been staying at this hotel for the last four years every time I visited. The services are exceptional, the rooms with great views (make sure to ask for a city and pool side view), and the restaurants are excellent and love the SPA treatments. The golf course is great, too (but i didn't get a chance to play). A great place for family with small children. Location of this hotel is convenient to the airport, shops and ASU. This is one of my favorite hotels.

We stayed at the Phoenician for a business conference. The hotel grounds were spectacular. With the hotel being at the base of Camelback Mountain, all of the views were amazing! Our rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom was almost as big as the sleeping area in our room. All of the staff we encountered were very accommodating and provided us with the best service. Everything we ate at the resort was delicious, from the catered food at the conference, to the burgers at Relish (a burger joint on the property).
Though our stay was too short, and we were inside the hotel a lot of the time, we had an absolutely enjoyable stay at the Phoenician. We will definitely be returning for a relaxing vacation.

You would rightfully expect the best out of such a prestigious and expensive hotel. The kind of place where you would not expect rooms overlooking another building separated by a roof top. We had a very small balcony with no sunshine at all. We would have appreciated to be able to enjoy some privacy on our balcony since the pools were over crowded with children, hard to find lounge chairs in April (probably a remainder of spring break). We did not expect families, once again considering that this is a pricey hotel. The spa services were again overpriced for the quality of treatments, the restaurants on site were also average. We travel a lot and we have to admit that we were disappointed. According to our experience, this hotel is over rated.

Thank you for your feedback. When The Phoenician was designed, the architect and owner wanted to ensure that the heritage, view and indigenous feel of the property complimented the lush desert landscape of the area. This is why they built the hotel next to the mountain and low to the ground. While we try to accommodate all view expectations, the best way to guarantee a great view is to book one of our Grand Deluxe Guest rooms. This will ensure that you have a beautiful view of the Valley and/or golf course. Please utilize our in house reservations as they are the most knowledgeable about room locations and views.

Recently stayed at the Phoenician for a business conference and had a tremendous experience. Beautifully crafted hotel, rich, opulent and luxurious. Amenities are fantastic: golf, cactus garden, tennis, fitness center, spa, 9 pools, art tour, restaurants, live lounge music and shops. It is conveniently located not too far a drive from Phoenix main airport. Valet of $29/night definitiely high, but can opt for self-parking your vehicle. Hotel has a desert, beige, neutral tone throughout that fits the locale very well. They have a $25 million dollar art collection on premise, including 7 million year old fossils, and fantanstic Native American statues throughout the grounds. Room was great, with a generous patio with lounger, table and chairs, nice big TV, desk, sofa, great in-room bar and snacks. Bathroom was superb, with rainshower shower, enclosed toilet area, soaking tub, huge mirror and dual sinks - marble everywhere. Had one of the best burgers of my life at Il Terazzo restaurant on premise - Kobe beef, boston lettuce, avocado and aioli on a butter toasted bun - a must for lunch if you go. Front desk and car service were a little robotic or workmanlike, but friendly. Requests for ice were handled immediately. Tiered pool area during the day and outdoor fireplace at night were spectacular. Being a luxury property, this does not come cheap, but if willing or able to pay, it is a tremendous property.

Room Tip: Can choose between a pool view or a mountain view. We had a pool view and I preferred as it is a mo...

We spent five days at The Phoenician, three for a meeting and extended two more. We found the hotel very accommodating, service was excellent. Pool is stellar with plenty of space for privacy. Pool attendants were quick to give you water and drinks. Had two treatments at spa very relaxing and professiona staff. We ate at steak place, best steak ever with spectacular views of the mountains. We golfed two rounds one an dessert and canyon nice course. We rented golf clubs they were perfect, grab a burger at club house after a round, yum. We will definitely be back five days wasn't enough
