“A very nice place to stay...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

This is the second time in three years I have stayed at the Phoenician. The facility and grounds are beautiful, the restaurants are very good with varied selection. Personnel is excellent. My only issue is that the rooms are dated. Definitely in need of a facelift, although the room was immaculately clean and the spacious shower did not disappoint.

Room Tip: Ask to be upgraded to the casitas over looking the pool, most often they will do for no additional c...

Thank you for sharing your experience. The Phoenician staff takes great pride in providing guests with a pristine environment, inside and out, complemented by diverse culinary offerings, an array of activities and programs, and AAA Five Diamond service. We are pleased to inform you that the guestrooms are scheduled for renovation in the very near future. We hope to see you again in 2013!

“Very Relaxing and Family Oriented”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Phoenician for the 3rd time. It is such a beautiful property. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the staff was very helpful, and we love the pool. It is a great place to stay for all types of occasions, but both of my teenage kids loved it.

We greatly appreciate your kind comments! With nine pools, The Phoenician provides a variety of options for guests - whether they are looking for a game of water volleyball, or a more serene moment of relaxation. I hope your teenagers had the chance to enjoy the 165-foot water slide! We look forward to welcoming you back soon for your fourth visit!

“Ultimate luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I have dined at the Phoenician many times in the past and was always been impressed by the food, opulent dining rooms and service. However, I had never stayed overnight until recently. This is a gorgeous property and the rooms are large, beautifully appointed and lack nothing in terms of amenities (Keurig coffee maker, jacuzzi tub, top of the line toiletries). The pillow top beds are remarkably comfortable and my husband and I had one of our best night sleeps in months. Also, I highly recommend a massage at the spa... although the prices are steep, the masseuses are skilled.

The location of the Phoenician is also convenient: tucked far enough off Camelback Road in the shadow of Camelback Mountain to feel private and secluded, but still close to Phoenix Sky Harbor, Scottsdale Fashion Square (shopping mall) and fine dining. Highly recommended.

We are so pleased that you have enjoyed our dining offerings over the years, and thrilled to learn that you have now had a memorable stay as well! From spacious guestrooms and signature spa treatments, to our 250-acre grounds and convenient location, the resort is designed with a casual elegance in mind. Perhaps a New Year's Eve celebration at The Phoenician would add to your holiday season!

“Beautiful hotel but service needs a little tweak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

The hotel design is gorgeous. The grounds are well kept (who I wondered had pulled the short string and had to put the christmas lights around the many cacti?). The room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool and a very active bunny. There were no pool noises but there were plenty of lawnmowers and assorted maintenance vehicle noises when outside.
The food at the italian restaurant was great, although the selection was a bit weak. The brunch food was great. Both dinner and brunch puts a dent in your wallet. Wifi was free and worked good.
Use selfpark after you check in. It is very convenient and much cheaper.

In terms of the service, it seems that they try hard but just miss it:
The hotel made a mistake and we were assaulted with numerous phonecalls and visits to the room to clear up the mistake. The maids also come to clean and in the evening for "turndown." The checkin took a long time as there were only 2 people at the desk. The restaurant waiters had to be asked to fill water, get silverware, etc. They could be a lot better trained and more attentive (for that price :).

“all you expect and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

We travel frequently and are frequently dissapointed. Not so at the Phoenician. The quality of the room, grounds, restaurant and pools were top notch and so was the service. I loved sitting by the many pools and having poolside food and drink service. We stayed in one of the cassitas overlooking the pools and had the afternoon sun and sunset on our own little balcony. My only issues was that the food is not all that healthy.

Room Tip: top floor cassita overlooking pools
