Scottsdale Camelback Resort (SCR) is a great place to spend a week in the spring! It is conveniently located for all the activities we enjoy in the greater Phoenix area.

The resort was built in the early 1980s, but the maintenance and upkeep make for a relaxed and upscale stay. The resort has tennis courts that were recently refinished, a great pool area (including a terrific kids pool), a small bar/cafe, a full exercise room, a beautifully landscaped grounds. There are activities onsite for all ages, too.

Check-in was quick and easy. We had a two bedroom condo with full kitchen. The unit had a new king-sized bed, new living room and dining room furniture, and felt like home for our week there.

This is NOT a hotel, so don't expect clean sheets daily and turn-down service. This is a timeshare condo with a midweek cleaning. You can get a variety of newspapers delivered to your door each morning.

SCR is close to several of the Spring Training ballparks and many local golf courses. The concierge can get you tee times. Old Town Scottsdale is just a few blocks away as is Fashion Square Mall and the Scottsdale River Walk. Restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping is all close by. You have easy access to Scottsdale Road, the 101 Loop, and the airport is less than 15 minutes using Scottsdale Road and the 202 Loop.

Even though the resort is right on busy Camelback Road, it is amazingly quiet.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had no problems during our stay and will definitely return to the resort.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit. Extrememly clean, it even passed the wifes white glove test. Resort is a little older but very well cared for. Parking right at your door so easy to unload after a day of shopping. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were quiet.

Pool was great and restraunt and bar were good too. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Intimate, Classy and Old World Charm”

Scottsdale Camelback Resort

Aug 24, 2007
5/5 found this review helpful

We were there as a guest of an owner for a week in August, 2007, in a three bedroom timeshare condo. This place is one of the older timeshare properties in Scottsdale - and is, quite frankly, much more intimate and classy than many of its newer competitors. It is extremely well cared for and the management and staff were outstanding.

The pool, kiddies’ pool (covered from the sun so the kids could play for hours without fear of burning up) and the bar/grill were a great deal of fun. We had our 5 year old grand-daughter with us, we played miniature golf, played in the game room, did the putting green. They had great kid’s activities as well as water aerobics and the like for adults.

This place is a great place to spend a week! We will be back!!

    • Disliked — Nothing - things were better than we had anticipated.

“Nice however had some problems”

Scottsdale Camelback Resort

5/5 found this review helpful

Seemed nice upon check-in and room was close to the pool area. The place is older from the 70's and needs updating. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. Some of the staff are very polite and some have a attitude. The food menu is very good for selection and price and hours available. Very noisy from the pool area after 9 pm and managment did not care. Pool water had foul taste and the hot tub was 104 to hot for most of us. Beware of excess charges when ordering items billed to your room. We have stayed in much nicer places.
