We enjoyed our 4 day stay at this Hyatt resort. The sunken, open air lobby is stunning, and is a delightful place to spend a relaxing afternoon with a drink or a light meal, people watching or reading. On the weekends, there was live entertainment there, playing to a full house. The pool areas were gorgeous and uniquely designed, There was an adults only pool, with the other pool containing a sandy beach area and meandering fingers of pool areas and lovely sunning areas. The hotel is undergoing room renovations, and they can use a good update and freshening. Our king room was nice enough, with a balcony and small foyer. If I were to stay there again, I would book a club suite for additional seating area. Rooms facing the entrance courtyard or rear outdoor lobby areas can be noisy, they say, due to evening live entertainment and crowds. Better to book a room or suite away from the central hotel area for quiet and privacy.
Service is UNEVEN: Gracious welcome on our arrival in the motor courtyard and lovely and efficient checkin. Service for breakfast or lunch can be slow. We often waited for a server to take our order and bring our check at the end. If you sit outside, tho, its so lovely one almost doesn't notice the bad service in the casual restaurant. One of the car valet guys was rude and self righteous verbally when I wasn't fast enough to give him the $1 tip to bring our car around. Who was he to demand a tip ? Perhaps the hotel should lower their nightly guest valet parking rates -- $30 a night. I tip well on arrival and departure when our luggage is loaded/unloaded. Am I being cheap when I don't always fork over a dollar at each in and out time a few times a day with our rental car ? I would stay there again definitely.
