“Convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

My hubs and i have stayed in this hotel before because it is a couple blocks from my sons home. Our King bed was very comfortable. The room was small but we were only there to sleep. The pool was clean as was the entire grounds. The hotel offered free continental breakfast in the restaurant. There were many food choices and great coffee. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for location and value.

We've just returned from the Magnuson Hotel and love it just as much as last year. Chloe, General Mgr. is doing a great job along with Richard, Cerillo and Amy and her staff.

Love the oldies music playing in the breakfast room and around the pool. Clean comfortable room - good value. Magnuson is trying to update things as they go. Met lots of wonderful folks. Great for senior couples and families.

The complementary Scottsdale Trolley runs by the hotel. Takes you down to the new Western Spirit Museum or shops in Old Scottsdale.

Not a good value for the money, the room is ok, bathroom is very small, low ceilings - mostly rated low due to the neighborhood - this is not in an area of hotels, shopping, businesses, it backs up to a low income neighborhood - I'm sure there is not a party EVERY night - but it was quite annoying to listen to the Mariachi band crank it up louder and louder from early afternoon until 11:05 PM - when someone finally pulled the plug mid-song. Also, in particular, Room 120 is not the room to stay in. The security gate is next to the room and SLAMS SHUT every time someone goes through, not only causing noise, but physically shaking the room each time. (And it is amazing how often and at what hours people were going in and out of the grounds.)

Room Tip: Do not let them put you in a room near a security gate.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. It had a very retro atmosphere. Clean rooms very friendly staff loved it! The bar lounge staff was friendly and the food and drinks were excellent. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean. Continental breakfast was great.

I stayed 7 nights here for a very reasonable price. It was clean and I slept well every night. The courtyard was very pleasant and I spent time each day on the swing, reading, relaxing and watching the birds. We were not far from Old Town and its great restaurants.
Staff was very friendly and a call for a burned out light was answered quickly. I would stay here again.

We went to spring training to watch the Giants play. We wanted to be as close to Scottsdale as we could for a reasonable price. We were lucky we found this place. The outside does reflect its age but for a low price, you get breakfast, pool, and a decent room. Its nothing fancy but the service was always friendly and provided us with what we exactly wanted, a great location, good room, great price.

We are glad you enjoyed our hotel. We purchased it in September and have implemented many upgrades. We hope to re-open the restaurant by the end of 2015. Come back and visit us!

The staff was very nice and pleasant. The room was spacious and the breakfast was typical of a hotel like this (cereal and muffins). The interior courtyard is very peaceful and quit pretty with a bird cage and stand up chess board. The fitness room required a separate key from the lobby, and they only had one which would be difficult if you were in there and then someone else came in. The hotel is two stories with no elevator which may concern older visitors. Even though the rooms are non-smoking there are ashtrays outside of each room and therefore our room spelled like smoke. This made it difficult to sleep as this infuses into everything. The AC unit was mounted between the room and the bathroom and when running would leak water on to the floor making a dripping sound and a puddle, which was awful. The hotel is very outdated, but quaint.
