“Great Value for Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We went to spring training to watch the Giants play. We wanted to be as close to Scottsdale as we could for a reasonable price. We were lucky we found this place. The outside does reflect its age but for a low price, you get breakfast, pool, and a decent room. Its nothing fancy but the service was always friendly and provided us with what we exactly wanted, a great location, good room, great price.

The staff was very nice and pleasant. The room was spacious and the breakfast was typical of a hotel like this (cereal and muffins). The interior courtyard is very peaceful and quit pretty with a bird cage and stand up chess board. The fitness room required a separate key from the lobby, and they only had one which would be difficult if you were in there and then someone else came in. The hotel is two stories with no elevator which may concern older visitors. Even though the rooms are non-smoking there are ashtrays outside of each room and therefore our room spelled like smoke. This made it difficult to sleep as this infuses into everything. The AC unit was mounted between the room and the bathroom and when running would leak water on to the floor making a dripping sound and a puddle, which was awful. The hotel is very outdated, but quaint.

went for a long weekend. Hotel is charming in a throwback way. Lovely courtyard. Rooms are on the small size but comfortable and quiet. Over all the property is well maintained and the staff is helpful.

What a great property! Clean comfortable rooms, a staff that truly enjoy their work environment and the cutest courtyard imaginable. If you need your sheets turned down, chocolates left on your pillow and a price tag of at least $300 per night - keep looking. If you are looking for a great deal on a memorable stay - this is the place. Would definitely book again,

We happened upon the property due to a last minute deal upon arriving in Scottsdale. It didn't look like much from the street, but we were pleasantly surprised upon seeing the rooms and the property. It looked like a 1960's California property. We thought it was super cute and cozy. Great showers. Breakfast was standard. Convenient to old town and hiking trails. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a poolside room and enjoyed the view.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of our stay, especially for the price of this hotel. Please note that the Hotel was formerly called Best Western Papago Inn but the name on the building now says just Magnuson Inn.

The building is a little retro in design but it has been freshly updated. Paint is new and fresh and everything was spotless. It was too cool to use the pool but the pool area is very nice with lots of lush vegetation and places to sit.

The breakfast area was large and was a step up from your plastic forks and paper napkins. Besides the standard cold breads and cereals there was also hot oatmeal and waffles. An attendant stayed around the breakfast area and kept it very clean.

The free trolley system can take you into Old Town and even further north. You can catch it at the corner of McDowell and 70th St right next to the hotel. The trolley is a neighborhood trolley (basically a bus) that takes you through some Scottsdale neighborhoods and then eventually connects with the tourist trolley system in Old Town.

Very reasonably priced, clean rooms, a short drive to Old Town Scottsdale. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great selection for continental breakfast. Stayed over three days and really enjoyed sitting by the beautiful pool. Very relaxing. Would like to have seen the restaurant open for dinner or microwave in room. Overall great place. Would definitely stay there again!
