“a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

This is a small motel with none of the pretensions often attached to Scottsdale resorts. There is no golf course, no hot tub, no "gourmet" restaurant ( breakfast only at the on-site restaurant, and a good one at that). What you get is a clean, small room facing a courtyard with a manicured lawn, nice landscaping, an aviary full of little birds, and a heated swimming pool of respectable size. All rooms and doors face the courtyard...it is an island of tranquility on a very busy street. City noises fade away as you enter. The wi-fi coverage is very good, there is a business center with computer and printer, and a small bar off the lobby.
We spent the holidays here ...ten relaxing days away from responsibilities. It was the fourth time we've stayed here. It won't be the last.

It took forever for the room to warm up. I had to turn it up to the highest setting and it took hours. No kleenex in the room, but all else was fine. The pool was not heated and is outside, and no hot tub. Just a basic stay at a good price. It is located next to a shopping area with a Korean Rest. that was excellent with good service. Other places to eat also. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Just got back from Papago Inn and I was really pleased with the place. Although it is listed as an resort, I would not call it that. It is a good Inn all the same. The room was large, the location prime, the staff excellent.
Be sure and have breakfast so you can meet the server Valerie, she will put sunshine into your morning even on a cloudy day. I had the best time bantering back and forth with her.
The staff at this Inn really care about your comfort, they go above and beyond to keep their guests happy.
Next time I am in Phoenix I will stay here.

This hotel in a great location gives you amenities usually found at higher priced hotels. Good size room, comfortable bed, refrigerator, desk,. reading chair, coffee maker, free wi-fi, nice tv (although I don't watch tv). My favorite amenity is real glass glasses and real ceramic coffee mugs. Nice strong shower although it is challenging to turn on. I had to call for help. Hint: Pull hard on the faucet handle. Warning, there is a bird aviary and the birds chirp early. Luckily my earplugs blocked out the noise

I have stayed here several times now and find this hotel to be a great value. Their rates are very reasonable and yet they provide wonderful little "extras" such as real coffee mugs and robes in the rooms. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The cocktail lounge is a nice little place for a drink. I haven't eaten breakfast in the restaurant because I have always had an early flight. Easy access to Phoenix Sky Harbor was the original reason for picking this hotel. Now I would be happy to return here for an actual vacation stay.

Room Tip: No elevators but only two floors
