Weekend getaway trip. I am a local Phoenix-area resident and love to stay in hotels to hang out in a different environment than my messy apartment for a day or two.
Booked on Priceline and was a little wary of this place based on the reviews here on TripAdvisor, but I thought the place was OK.
I felt perfectly safe - this is a very, very, very quiet, semi-industrial/office park neighborhood right on a general aviation airport, nothing was going on here during the weekend whatsoever.
Most of the people staying here seemed to be middle-aged tourists as well as a couple of families with kids.
1. Room was very clean and there was free WiFi. Air conditioning took a little while to work but nice and cold once it got going.
2. Bathroom was TINY and not much bigger than an airplane or Amtrak bathroom. I kid you not. Plenty of clean towels and housekeeping did a great job in cleaning the room after my first night.
3. Bed was WAY too soft, I felt like I was sinking/swimming in it. I love hard mattresses.
4. Free breakfast buffet was OK but not excellent, just biscuits, French toast strips, pastries, bagels/toast, some fresh fruit, cereal and juice. No meat or eggs which I thought was weird.
5. Had room service for dinner, a little disappointed as it was brought in a plastic "to-go" doggie bag and styrofoam box like I was getting it from some neighborhood deli or something. Angus beef cheeseburger which was pretty good but not quite Radisson or Hilton caliber.
Right at the entrance to Scottsdale Airport (general aviation). Within short distance to Kierland Commons and the Promenade upscale strip mall with Lowe's and Petsmart.
OK accommodations but next time I stay in Scottsdale I will try and get a deal on Fairfield by Marriott!
