After reading reviews about this hotel and seeing the star rating, we were kind of nervous about staying here. We booked the prefect golf vacation, and did not want a hotel to ruin it for it. We were VERY surprised when we showed up to the hotel. The front desk staff was amazing. The pool area was amazing. It felt like I was at a mini resort laying there and having pool side service from the bar. My biggest advice is the pay the extra money and get a pool side premium room. 32" LCD TV and great bedding. If I went back to Scottsdale, I would not even look at another hotel because this one was so perfect.

This hotel was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Good breakfast, too. (Tip: use the "pod" coffee machine in the lobby -- it is very fast and makes much better coffee than the coffee on the breakfast buffet.) Our only complaint was that the bed pillows were so thick and firm that it felt as if we were "fighting" them all night!

“Older but nice”

Location is great; only about 4 blocks from Fashion Square. The entrance, lobby, restaurant (breakfast is great!), bar and work-out facilities are all new and very nice. The pool area is quite nice with new lounges, covered "beds" and beautiful landscaping, but there's no bathroom so if you're on the 2nd floor you'll get lots of exercise (waitress service from restaurant & bar). The rooms are older and look like an old "Days Inn" from the outside; two stories with stairs. The rooms are small but nice; recently refurbished with new funiture. The service desk was courteous if not totally knowledgable, but the maid service was very good. The hotel shuttle will take you where you would like within 5 miles. Don't count on it for airport pick-up/drop-off. It only goes to PHX once every few hours so unless your flights jive with their schedule you'll end up spending hours at PHX. Considering the prices at this time of year the value was good.

“Overated - Not a Hotel”

I was expecting a hotel not a motel. Was given the wrong type of room at first (a double instead of premium king with flat screen tv) but after contacting the front desk I was able to get the correct room. Very dirty carpeting and the towels were feeling a little damp and slightly used. No breakfast the next morning because of some kind of a lock-out and a locksmith was needed - no apology. The AC was hard to get a comfortable temperature, was off and on all night, and was very loud.

The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were very high so that my neck was wore the next morning.
The bar was nice however the bartender continued to serve an obviously drunken man who was loud and obnoxious.

Would not stay there again.

“You Get What You Pay For”

My son (20 yr old) and I stayed here for five nights (Sat.-Wed.) in mid-March. We were booked for a Premium King room with a rollaway the first night and a Premium Double room the remaining four nights. The reservation was held on a Visa card. When I booked it, about 6 weeks in advance, they guaranteed the rollaway. I called the hotel the night before arrival to confirm things and, again, they guaranteed the rollaway. We arrived 11PM Saturday night. They checked us in after about 5 minutes of looking through their system for a room. OK, it was late. We went to the room and even before opening the door noticed there was someone already checked into it. I went back to the desk and they told me they didn't have the room I reserved. After some expression of dissatisfaction, they gave us a "deluxe executive" room with a pullout sleeper. It is basically the same as the other Premium rooms, but bigger. So this reservation didn't start out good, but things improved. We moved to a 2nd-floor Premium Double overlooking the pool the next morning and that room was OK. It was fairly clean, has a great LCD TV on the wall and a strong signal for WiFi. Very nice. My only complaint, the water did not drain well from the shower. Regarding other aspects of the hotel, the breakfast was good enough, but not great. Mainly it is cereal, small danish rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon and cold waffles. I don't drink coffee and there was no orange juice. Commonly I had to wait for staff to fill empty trays. The exercise room was nice, but one of two ellipticals didn't work and twice there were no towels for drying off. I talked to front desk staff a couple of times on the way back from breakfast and they are cordial, but minimally helpful. I shopped around quite a bit for hotel prices and for the location and offerings, this is one of the least expensive. Considering the cost of the room, accommodations and what you get, I would say this is a good deal, but not a great one. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend if they are traveling on a tight budget.
