“Perfect for our needs”

Stayed here for 4 nights last week--villa #29. Agreed with the previous review that the decor could have been more "southwestern", but overall the furniture was in good condition and the view distracted attention from the decor. The villa was very spacious, airy, had tons of windows and a patio overlooking the lake. Though we thought there would be 3 BR and 2.5 BA, there were actually 4 BR and 3 full baths. The kitchen had new applicances but needed some updated cabinets. Bathrooms seem to been renovated recently. All in all, the villa was perfect for us as we hosted several small get-togethers surrounding a wedding, and it provided tons of social space and privacy as it was an end-unit. It was a great value for a group of 6 people.

We arrived mid morning, having just been travelling for 15 hours, to find that our villa would not be ready until 4pm. As we were very tired and hoping for a shower and change of clothes, we asked to borrow a room for a short time. This was refused fairly bluntly and we ended up having to hire a hire a room for 24 hours at the full day rate, just to freshen up. This, we considered, was downright unfriendly and a bad start to the holiday.

The villa, number 29, was very spacious, clean and cool. The kitchen was well equipped, with appliances that were either brand new or in very good condition. There were 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, plenty of space for 8 people. We were a little disappointed in the decor - had been hoping for southwestern style but got lots of steel and glass. The best features were the view over the lake and golf courses, also the abundance of wildlife around the property - rabbits, herons, families of quail, water birds. We spent early mornings sitting on the patio, admiring the view and watching hummingbirds visiting a bird feeder.

The resort offers a number of facilities such as a pool, gym, tennis courts etc which you pay $9 a day for whether you want them or not. The pool was closed for three days for repairs. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and very well kept. The resort restaurant, the Pinon Grill, is good but expensive. There was no vegetarian option on the menu for one of our party. It was resolved in the end, but only with a very simple salad. We liked the Diamondback bar, which was cool, classy and comfortable, and highly recommend the Prickly Pear Margarita.

Most of the staff were great, particularly the Diamondback bar staff and the poolside bar staff. The housekeeping staff were incredibly fast and efficient. The guys who looked after the forecourt and entrance area were very helpful and friendly. The reception staff did their jobs well enough but right from the start seemed uninterested in being friendly or helpful.

Overall: this was our second visit to the Millennium Resort. We had a great time, but somehow didn't feel valued as customers and probably won't stay there again.

“Fabulous Place for the price”

This place was fabulous for the price. Villa #42 had a sort of southwestern style. It was 4 bedrooms (when we were only expecting 3) and 3 full baths and a half bath. Basically we learned that they're all privately owned so you get a different experience with each one. The place was about 2300 square feet (according to the Realtor we talked to that was holding an open house near our villa). I definitely recommend a villa for the price they also house a lot of people. We had a front and rear patio and a small balcony off the master bedroom. The kitchen had semi recently been remodeled and everything was a nice clean experience. You also have views of the lake and golf course right off the back. You can't beat the $100/day food & beverage credit you can get as well (be sure to ask the hotel directly when you book they were the only ones who could get the credit for the villas not corporate reservation service). They have a slightly limited menu, but everyone was satisfied in our group. Our friends were in Villa # 34 which was not quite as nice as ours only 3 bedrooms, and looks as the decorating style was 80's, but still a nice large and clean place with the same or slightly better views. The pool and restaurant are a bit of a hike from where our villa was and it was HOT so we ended up driving over mostly when we went. Also near your villa there are two assigned parking spaces which are covered which is nice when it is hot. The staff was very friendly. When we ordered room service it took under 30 minutes. The pool area was always only slightly busy during the day and at night it was quite empty. I would definitely stay here again.
