“Great food and awesome atmosphere !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We ate at the Roaring Fork over Memorial Day Weekend and the food was great !
We had the Boneless Buttermilk-fried Chicken with mashed potatoes, & peppercorn gravy
and the Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder Carnitas with black beans, & fresh hot buttered flour tortillas.
Both dishes were excellent. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crust and amply portioned. I was surprised with the Pork Shoulder Carnitas because the pork wasn't already shredded on my plate, it was one big piece with the crispy skin still on which helped seal in the flavor. That is now my favorite dish of all time ! Service was pretty good. We didn't make reservations, so the hostess gave us the choice of having a 35 minute wait to sit inside the dining room or go into the bar and grab the next available booth, so we opted for the bar booth and only had to wait 5 minutes.

The server we had did a good job of summarizing the menu and based on her suggestions were able to land on two excellent dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant, the options on the menu are wide enough to satisfy any palate !

“Awesome!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

A 15 minute drive from our hotel, but well worth it! The moment you walk in the door, the aroma of open pecan-wood fires draws you in. Adequate wine list; attentive, polite service; and delicious food. Can highly recommend the lamb shanks and the cedar-planked salmon with soy-lemon sauce -- outstanding! The mixed green salad with candied walnuts (or pecans?) and feta cheese was delicious -- the dressing was so light and tangy. The bread, especially the mini cornbread muffins, was excellent. Total bill for 2 glasses white wine, one salad, two entrees, and a bottle of red wine was $157, including tip.

“Happy Hour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

Very nice restaurant. The bar was full when we arrived, first come first served. The very nice hostess sat us in the patio area which was nice considering it was 100 degree weather. Had a Huckleberry Frozen Margarita...very good. My daughter had a mixed market green salad....very good...I had the beef tenderloin sliders...not bad.

“Great tastes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Our server, Amy was outstanding. My husband indulged in the kettle of green chili pork with warm tortillas -- a must eat here. I had a fabulous appetizer - crisp pork belly BLT. It was a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Our entrees were excellent as well, great flavor, perfectly executed. Their warm bread basket is one of the best we have had in this arid place - small disks of jalapeño cornbread and warm soft rolls. The accompaniment of honey chipotle butter was a treat. The deserts were so-so but we were full! This was a real treat.
