We went to Scottsdale the week before Christmas to check this out as a possible meeting site. We loved it so much on Monday that when we got back from Sedona on Thursday, we went back to the same room. This is a wonderful place.

-Nice room, although quite far from parking structure.
-Good fitness center.
-30 minute check in with no one else at the desk.
-Checked out of the room by housekeeping while at pool, came back to room, keys still worked, and starting changing when new guest arrived in the room. No apologies from front desk staff, just the following statement: "Sorry you feel that way". I would imagine most people would be upset by that experience, perhaps not.

“decent stay, clean hotel”

Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center

Stayed at the Scottsdale Resort on MLK weekend with some friends. Pros: rooms were spacious and clean; nice bar and pool area; gym seemed nice as well (though we just walked through, did not actually use it); very quiet hotel even though it seemed to be a popular conference spot. Cons: very soft mattresses; hotel is slightly dated; biggest annoyance: the front desk staff -- disinterested and not very helpful with anything. Example: my husband sent me flowers that had not shown up - I called the front desk staff and they were just like, "haven't seen it"; they were not helpful in the least about asking around, seeing if they could locate, etc. Our room was cheap for Scottsdale and the size of the room/amenities [$200 on hotels.com]. All in all, a "neutral" experience -- good price/location but if you want "luxury" or impeccable service, go elsewhere.

“A Rip-off!!”

Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center

I booked this property through Hotwire (only to later find the same rate on the hotel's website). When I arrived, the hotel desk clerk informed me that there would be an additional, and nonnegotiable $12.00 "resort fee." The "resort fee" was supposed to include, among other things, a full morning coffee service and parking. As it turned out, I was told to move my car from a large and nearly empty covered lot as it was "valet parking only." The complementary coffee service was $3.00 for anything other than straight coffee. The business center wanted $5.00 for using a computer to check email. In short, this place was a nickle-and-dime-you rip-off. We were also placed in rooms accessable from a hot outdoor breezeway that had a noisy air conditioner and very noisy workmen working right outside our door before 7:00 am. Most of the rooms were inside a quiet and air conditioned hotel, so I suspect our room was for prepaid bookings. With so many smaller hotels working hard to please their guests, who needs a resort like this?

My husband and I stayed at The Scottsdale Resort from June 29th through July 3rd. As we arrive we are very impressed with the wait staff, who took our keys and took care of our luggage. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was beautiful, we upgraded to a king bed and we were also impressed by the overall look of the room. Nicely decorated, I felt "at home." Nice wooden blinds and a great view of the pool. (3rd floor)
We spent most of our time by the pool or shopping. There really is some great shopping in Scottsdale! Drinks at the pool bar were great! But it didn't seem to be open as much as we had hoped for. The bar was open from about Noon to 6, so if you had any activities to attend to during the day, you missed out on the pool bar.
Great fitness center!! Both my husband and I workout everyday, and we were very very impressed with the up-to date fitness equipment. (Compared to most hotel fitness centers) This one rated #1. We never did get a massage, but they seemed booked! Everytime we walked by someone was leaving and another was walking in! (It seemed a little much)
We ate breakfast once at the hotel, and after the $40 something bill for buffet style breakfast we decided to skip out. And mind you the $40 did include a 20% discount. Yikes! However the restraunt staff was great and very polite.
We did have to call a repair man to our room one night because the air conditioning fan was buzzing, they were there in a hurry and got the job fixed no problem at all, those things happen.
The house keeping staff was great as well. We always had a clean room, and they always came by at night to tuck down the bed a give you mints.
Something my husband and I figured out... the beer in the mini bar is cheaper than the beer at the bar... don't hesitate to open it up! Bring your own snack food, or you'll starve.
We ate at great restraunts all week long, to name a few... Houston's, Cheesecake Factory, Salty Senortita's. And if your into shopping go to the Fashion Square!!
Overall we had a great time!! Relaxing by the pool, eatting, and shopping!
And if we find ourseleves in Scottsdale again, we'll be staying here!!
