“Quiet, convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

I stayed here with a large group and found the accomodations to meet our needs. The hotel staff was nice and were always around, but not bothersome. The room I was in was very nice and I liked the extra long desk arrangement. The walk-through closet and two robes was different from most places I have stayed. Housekeeping was intermittent with their services. Every night some of my coworkers had housekeeping at their room to offer turn-down service and chocolates, but I only had that service on night five. The paper was left outside the room every morning, but the housekeeper took it from inside my room everyday while I was out. If I didn't put stuff inside the dresser or closet the housekeeper clean it away. Other than that the room was always cleaned nicely each day. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have slept in recently.

The staff at this resort are the nicest of any hotel personnel we've seen! And, the room layout is fantastic! Double-sided closet....brilliant! Two work stations....brilliant! And, having two sinks, one separate from the toilet area, was wonderful! The decor was lovely, Beds were very comfortable. Palm Court and the cafe area served delicious food for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We will definitely return to this hotel for our next trip to Scottsdale!

Room Tip: Since this was our first stay here, we have no suggestions. We had a standard room which did have a...

Celebrated my wife's birthday today by staying the last 2 nights at this resort. Initially we were afraid it may have the feel of a convention hotel - but not the case at all. It's a Spanish style resort with large, nicely appointed rooms and easy access to the pool, jacuzzi, spa, and restaurants. We had room service our first night and we were impressed with the quality food & friendly service. Sunday morning we tried the Champagne Brunch and both felt it was one of the best brunches we've ever experienced. Again, friendly & attentive staff and the buffet offered a large selection of breakfast and lunch items. Our waiter even brought a miniature birthday cake to celebrate.
We saw an Angels/A's Spring Training game (great afternoon activity) and returned to their lounge called Sangria's. Happy Hour is each afternoon with a selection of appetizers, beers, wines and mixed drinks for $5 each. Delicious - everything! Service - outstanding!
Took a long walk along the paths near the golf course this morning and checked out at 1pm to head home. We wanted to stay longer, but we have to get back to the real world.

Room Tip: All of the rooms seem to have a golf course or pool view.

We’ve stayed at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center several times, including this past weekend. This property has the potential to be a first-class hotel, unfortunately, we’ve been disappointed each and every time. While we’d like to give the hotel and its management the benefit of the doubt, there seems to be a clear pattern of cutting corners when it comes to maintenance and ensuring quality customer service.

This past weekend, we opted to pay extra for an “upgraded” room, overlooking the golf course . When we entered the room, we were pleased with the size and layout of the room. However, our enthusiasm was quickly replaced with disappointment… once again. It was an unusually cool evening for Scottsdale, and even the short walk from the parking area to our room made us look forward to a warm cozy room. The first thing we noticed was how cold the room was, despite the thermostat being set at 74 degrees. In short order, we figured out the cold was coming in from the window, which was fully open. I quickly closed the window, and then discovered the lock was totally non-functional, making it impossible to lock shut our first-floor window.

Next, we decided a nice warming bath would be a good way to break the chill. Oops, another maintenance issue. The mechanical bathtub stopper wasn’t functional. So, no bath, but at least the shower worked and the water was hot. What next? The room had two sinks; one in the tub-toilet space, and another in the dressing area just outside the bathroom. Nice, huh?…. Except, only the cold water faucet worked on the outside sink Alright, let‘s settle in bed and watch some TV. Wouldn’t you know, the remote worked only intermittently, making it necessary to push any button numerous times before it would register.

Having traveled many places around the US and abroad, we’ve seen a lot worse and have learned to adapt. Also, we don’t like to complain. So, we simply made the best of things. On the positive side, I have to say the bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and quiet. The morning breakfast buffet (not included) is quite good, as are the servers.

At deeply discounted prices, this property offers adequate, if not perfect, accommodations close to Scottsdale shopping, dinning, and activities. However, at full price, there are definitely better offerings in the area. NOTE: quoted prices usually do not include the additional and required $19/per day "resort fee."

Room Tip: Decline, if offered a "casita." Although larger rooms, they are inconvenient to the main h...

We just returned from a long weekend in Phoenix for a family event. We wanted to stay at a luxurious resort but since we would be using the facilities sparingly, we didn"t want to splurge too much. We settled on the Scottsdale resort and are glad we did. It was priced at the same level as a 3 star motor inn, but was a beautiful resort. I'm not comparing it to ultra luxury resorts like the Boulders, but we got luxury at an affordable price and would return if the same situation arose.

Room Tip: There are relatively few elevators in this sprawling 3 story hotel, and since the hotel is in a very...
